Rake questions

I have a few questions about rake. Please take your time and answer them to me all. I can really appreciate it. Thanks

1a. Can i get rake if I already have an existing account ? (I'm thinking not cause u have to enter a code when u create an account, right?)

2. How do I Activate rake. Is a code when making an account enough, or do i have to download it from a special link?

3. Why do sites offer this, they give away money but how do they earn it?

We get this question about once a week or so...

When you click on a link at a poker site like rakeback.___, they either get a certain amount of money for your click, if you sign up....or they get a certain amount of your rake. It's just the way that websites pay for their advertising.

If you don't have an account on a site that offers rakeback (pretty much every one besides PokerStars), you can create one through a rakeback affiliate.

1. aside from pokerstars which does not offer rakeback, you can only get rake if you sign up for a BRAND NEW account. of course, most sites don't allow multiple accounts so basically, you can't get rakeback on an existing account unless you email support and see what they can do for you.

2. you activate rakeback by putting in a referral code when you sign up for a new account at a certain site using a link from a reputable rakeback site.

3. see wonka's answer. they're just giving you back a proportion of what they are gaining from you in the first place

AN alternative to rakeback ?
I think they just made that up so I wouldn't make a new account.
