PT3 Micro Stakes Edition Deal

Not cheap enough. Needs to be $29.95 for micro whores like me to even think about it.

Tooo expensive and doesn't cover big enough stakes (should cover up to 100nl imo like the HEM's small stakes version does). Stox members (even those who get free Stox) can buy the full version of HEM for $50.

I'm a big PT3 supporter but this edition is poorly conceived.

Tried the eval when they went to PT3, ended up second guessing myself way too many times and spent too much time trying to figure out what all the numbers meant. If I was playing 50-100NL, then yeah, I would get it and learn the hell out of it. For 2NL, I think there's too much variance in the players and I just don't think it is worth it.

It's nice to know that they have made the attempt. Although, for $55, Hold'Em Manager has a Small Stakes Edition which covers higher limits, if I remember correctly. I still have ~40 days or so on my 60 day trial, so I will burn that up and see if they make any changes. I too am weary of splashing out $45 - I must admit, though, that I could certainly see getting a lot of play out of it. It is three levels from $0.02/$0.04 to $0.25/$0.50 LHE and I expect I may not get to the quarter games until the end of the year at the earliest.... $45 for about five or six months, will full purchase price applied to the full version is a nice deal.

Both HEM and PT3 are ridiculously cheap compared to what they are worth. Regardless of the stakes you play. And the HUD is just a detail. Analyzing and improving your game is really what it's all about.

Oh, I believe you. I think that people often become jaded and cynical when they look up and see so much overpriced crap pushed at them for no other reason than the fact that they play poker. And price does not necessarily indicate quality in our hobby/industry, sadly...

I will say this though : the fully functional 60 day trial of PT3 is insanely generous and should give anyone plenty of time to assess its true worth. I'll use up the rest of the trial I started on last month, but I must say that even if the offer goes away it is still a good buy. It is nice that they have responded to HEM and made what seems to be a compelling counter offer. Very effective marketing.

If you are going to buy one, I suggest HEM. I have PT3 and have had problems. I just finished the trial on HEM and I'm going to buy it as soon as my BR will allow. So if you haven't bought one yet, I suggest HEM, it's the better program.

Does hem cover sng and mtt like pt3. I trialed it but was not playing sng then.

HEM does everything PT3 does and more. HEM is the better program by far.

I have both or did, my trial is up for HEM and I think it's way better. There are more numbers and stats to analyze your play and progress. Plus there are more detailed hud stats for ring.

Why do you like PT3 better? that's what I use now, but as soon as I can purchase HEM, I am.

There is not a stat in HEM that you can't get from PT3 (you may have to make it custom but the ability is there), but honestly the reason I like PT3 better is more a look/feel thing. I just think HEM is ugly. That's why I think people should try both, because we all can have different opinions.

The 1 thing that I really do like in HEM is the Players tab. If you use HEM, make sure you take advantage of that feature.

I downloaded the PT3 free trial. I really like to keep things minimal on my comp. You have to install PostgreSQL and everytime you launch it, it has to connect to a server? Is HEM anymore minimalistic?

the both user postgresql. essentially HEM and PT3 and databases, so you can't really avoid having a local sql server installed on your machine.

LOL, you have no clue and are not using your free trial wisely if you are saying this.

Trial has a limited life, whether that is days or hands. After that it just won't work. So even if you have a ton of hands on a particular player, you won't be able to retrieve that data after the trial runs out.

Imagine that player just put you all in and you are wondering about what his tendencies are......does he bluff a lot?, is he tight or loose? Just having a reasonable answer to those questions, at that critical moment, could, depending on what stakes you play, give you more than enough info to either win that hand, or save enough by getting you to fold that hand to more than pay for PT3 or HEM.

Not only does PT3 and HEM give you a hud for live play, the most important part of the program is what I made bold above!!! If you use the program correctly you will see the holes in your game and be able to improve your game.

The trial and the full version are the same. except the trial runs out. You are missing my point. You said you are using the trial and you think it's a waste of money. If you can't see the benefit in buying the program and always using it for your online career, then you don't know how to use the program and you are not using it to it's full capability.

Can you track both ring and tourneys/sit n gos on both hem and pt3 looking to use the hud but also track ring and tourneys seperate. I also remember seeing that u can track people in your database and see where they are sitting.which program does that? thanx for your help.

I think if you are decent at multitabling then it's worth it. I have a free copy of PT3 coming to me through points on another site, and I've been using the trial.

Bobsay225 - you can just download the trial free. Prospector is good for tracking your own play as well.
