| Problems with absent-t players. I've recently noticed a huge problem when I'm playing in freerolls with a low attendance rate such as the mafialife one at bodog. Heres the problem and I'm looking for a solution or advice. There will only be 2-3 people actually there at the table of 9. these people with my luck somehow are sitting in the first and 3rd spot to my left. the problem is that 8/9 times, I'm acting first and they are acting last which puts me at a huge disadvantage and no matter how I adjust I always seem to lose. If I fold they get all the blinds but if I call I'm always out of position. Help? |

| Maybe you could try thinking about this situation a little differently. Using the case of you, two other players on your left, and six noshows, ignore the noshows. Treat the blinds as being posted by the player furthest left. One difference might be that, since that player won't really be posting the blinds, the player might not be as protective of them. Also, since it's a three player game, you would play hands of a lower quality than you might in a nine player game. You would also need to become a bit more aggressive because, in a three player game, you're starting to play the player more and the cards less. | re: Problems with absent-t players. poker It doesn't hurt to ask the other players if they're interested in trading blinds for a while. Or is that against the rules? In any case, I've done that before, and even though no one gets a huge stack, those at the table do well until the autofolders are gone and are in great position to make the money. |

| The situation you are talking about happens a lot. You can usually let them take the small blinds and then pound them for big slugs when you hit something. I like that play a lot. Or you can fight them by raising preflop a lot and make them make decisions. That strategy works too, at least against me (I've done it successfully a few times). Either way, the 6 sitters makes your game easier, not harder. Try a different strategy a few times and see how it works. |

| Just remember that since most of the players are sitting out everyone at the table playing has a positive expectation when playing correct poker, it is not nessasary for you to take all the blinds or even most of the blinds if you play correctly you will leave that table with more chips than you started when you got there, if someone has a better position than you then it is okay if he takes the blind more than you do you dont have to beat him early in the trny. |
