Problem with getting my stack up and staying in a game

For the past 3 days I have played the UK Freeroll on full tilt ($100 one) and in all 3 of these tournny's I find that I can build my stack up nicelly and can get it up to about 20k in chips but then strugal and ending losing all my chip not to far away from the money, I came in the following places 67th place the first time, 33rd PLACE! and 112th place and in which the prizes start at 27th place.

Please I anyone give me any advice on how I can get my stack bigger to stop short stacking.

Note that I am a some what tight and aggresive player who does at times bluff and normally my bluff work.

from what I have seen here is that you are asking a question without giving any info like hand histories stack sizes situations/responses to that situation. You may want to check out some of the videos on here,and even stick around on the tourney after you bust out and watch top players at there tables. In the past week I have bubbled out myself(29th,32nd) in the 100 freeroll and came in 9th tourney dollar freeroll.This site is full of info check out the search feature good luck and healthy stacks

don't let yourself fall under 10BBs ever. when i get to around 13BBs ot less its fold or shove preflop. i dont play any wearker hands than i normally would just play some way more aggressively(eg i'd shove 56s). its not time to wait for a big hand anymore. in the beginning your very likely to get paid off. but towards the end its time to steal the blinds. you will notice most hands no longer go to showdown. you should be taking advantage of this. you got to try for the blinds atleast once an orbit to stay from losing chips. if you can win a hand in that orbit too you just made some profit. if you ever ever see the big blind pick up the pot because no one has bet this is the time to start betting. i find min. bets work too. but i do 2.5x the BB.

It's hard to advise you without more specifics. Try posting some hands that you are struggling with in Tournament HA.

I mix my game up quite a bit depending on my chip stack, position and the chip stacks of the other players.

You are obviously not struggling early in the game - but we need to know what is happening when you start losing the chips you have built up.

The only indication you give is that at times you bluff and it usually works. I can't really call anything I do "bluffing". That doesn't mean I won't play hands aggressively when I think I could be behind - but I don't think of it as bluffing when I am using my position to win pots. Bluffing to me always makes me think of wild betting and taking shots at pots randomly from any position. (Especially in freerolls). If that is what you do then that could be your problem. I see people play like that in freerolls all the time.

True ... it helps us to be placed in a "situation" you've experienced. Search for examples of hand descriptions among the threads.

But, here's a couple thoughts to consider:
[1] You cannot "rush" a game. Stay focused and patient. Just as you cannot push the car in front of you in traffic, stand back a bit from the bumper ahead of you.
[2] Only get involved in hands where you are holding a very strong hand. .... And be willing to fold, saving your chips for later. [quote] "Folding is only a small mistake."
[3] Remember that you DO NOT have to play EVERY hand. What is not televised are the large number of hands folded between the "interesting" hands.
[4] Watch the televised games carefully watching what is folded as well as what wins.
[5] Search among the articles and threads regarding stragies.
[6] Participate in single-table or heads up to gain experience.
[7] If restless and staring to make mistakes, then "sit out" a few minutes.

There is one thing it could be... I find that a lot of the times many good pocket hands that I get given everyone either folds before the flop or on the flop... also when ppl bet aggreilly in the later stages when I start to struggal I find that I normally fold, even on cards such as KQ unsuited.. 10 9unsuited .. low pairs and even Jacks... would it be a good idea for me to rerase or call any largeish bets ppl make with these sorts of cards.

Having played a few tourneys on Fulltilt that might be somewhat similiar in nature (ie. the CanadaCup freeroll, although I'm guessing it has marginally better skill level of play than the reg. freerolls.... at least as far as I noticed from running some player stats.). What I've noticed is that even very deep into these tournies you will get ALOT of noobs who are limping in on very high blinds, "WANTING TO SEE THE FLOP!!!!"... generally weak poker imo. Try to differentiate between the ones who are actually limping in on big hands but are afraid to committ any chips preflop (ie. like AQo, AJ in late pos., med. pp's, etc.) and the others who are limping in on weaker holdings. Instead of joining in with them, look for spots to re-steal (as I'm sure it is difficult to find spots to steal blinds when there's so often 2, 3 or more players still limping in). Pick a decent spot and either re-raise large OR if in late position or on blinds and guy in CO or on BTN is continually limping in weak... just raise huge or shove it allin and put them to a decision (esp. if stack size is in the 15-22 bb size... good size for resteals... too shallow to call raises and see flops in most cases).

Optimally you want to look for spots where you can steal the blinds, perferably in Late position... but as mentioned, sometimes you aren't going to find these spots. Look for spots to re-steal!! Another scenario that I see happen frequently - - you get a player to your right who is regularly min-raising into your blinds or blinds just to the left of you. Shove it ALLIN on this guy (most cases he doesn't want to risk a big pot, but just wants to keep stealing for minimal investment).
If you're in BB & larger stack in SB keeps limping in (Comp SB) and then auto-bets flop.... reraise ALLIN preflop, sometimes with any two cards. This should shut him down.

Late stage tourney play.... "you must be willing to die in order to live"

well, generally, you sound pretty patient...and that's the way to be. sometimes you just go card dead...big tourney's take up a lot of time and you're guaranteed to go dead for a few spells....those blinds just hurt a whole lot more when they're big i think is what you're noticing...whereas early on you can take your chances and get paid big or lose some chips and its not such a big deal because you know you have time on your side. there's nothing wrong with shoving. in the freerolls and cheap tourney's though, you'll often get a caller or two so there really isn't anything wrong with trying to get lucky...then if you're still dead as hell and have cold feet...you've bought a little time for some of those weak players to blow their stacks out. then play shove em again...make sure you have enough stack that its no big deal for half the table to call just to get your sissy tail out of the game though. if you've been tight and have appeared timid for a while, they might just believe you with anything you shove anyway....except for that dude who's got KK...not your fault though.

Do you play freerolls and how many times do you win?

I lost track, some time ago, and this is in CC freerolls. My best placing has been 2nd, i have had times to were, i justed missed getting ITM.. but now i have been playing in MMTs alot more. Once you build a stack you don't want to, push everyone around.
I think i may try out a PS freeroll. Even tho i have been playing in the OFC freerolls.
