Post flop in sng's and mtt's

Being I am still in the lower limits I run into the chasers almost every hand. If you flop 2 pair or better how do you bet it. I have tried half pot bets, pot bets, double pot bets, even at times all in. They still call. I know in a cash game I can rebuy and eventually gain the lose back but in tournaments I am either out or seriously short stacked. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Isn't that the idea? To get them to call when you have the best hand?? That's how you win the most money, right? Try raising 2Xs BB, then you should be able to get enough information to see if you even WANT to go further---BUT, there really isn't alot of info you give here to be able to give you very much advice!

Simple question how do you play the hand when you have top 2 pair or a set and you know they are chasing a flush or any straight in early to mid stages of tournaments?

huh? is that a joke? when and why would you minraise preflop when someone's already limped (or hasn't)? I understand that there may be some circumstances, but to get info? What are you going to learn, that the pot odds say play any suited connector/gapper/pp, etc.?

It sounds like you aren't raising preflop enough. then you need to follow up your preflop aggression with post flop aggression. Also your bets need to be consistent. You cannot bet a different amount when you hit the flop than you do when you miss. Even completely oblivious players will catch on to that. once you show a strong hand and then don't change your betting you will confuse your opponents and they will usually end up folding more than they should.

I suggest you post some trouble hands in the Tournament Hand Analysis and see what people tell you. They may spot problems you weren't even aware of.

raise preflop to get them out. Once they are in the hand top two post flop is almost the best you could ask for.Pot size bet or even double pot size bet if you think they will call on draw is good if they suck out after that you got your chips inn with the best of it.You will build your stack in these tourneys most of the time with hands like that.

If you flop two pair on the flop, depending on how the table strength is i usually bet around the pot to get the chasers out. And if they stay in and catch theres really nothing you can do.

RoTs,.. it depends on many factors,.. how many are in the hand, what was the preflop action (are you the aggressor here?), how has your play been perceived by others up to this point, are other players even good enough to recognize what your flop bet might be respresenting, or are they completely loose idiots, believing you play flops the way they do (pot bet on flop w air in an effort to steal the pot... so many rookies doing that out there, is hilarious and yet frustrating, lol).
Lots of other things to consider with this scenario. Not too sure what others are referring to when they mention the 'min-raise' preflop for info.?? I don't see that here.. maybe I'm not reading part of the thread??
So.. without any preflop info., or knowing how many are in the hand, or the texture of the board, or if your flopped 2pr. is top 2, bottom 2 or other.... hard for me to say.
If this is the situation (or along these lines and to try to give you a standard version of what I'd possibly do)... 3 in the hand, you flop bottom 2pr. w 2-fl.dr. on brd.,.. depending upon my opponents, (if I'm first to act, I will often check-raise and to probably answer your question, I will raise big enough so that it is a MISTAKE for him to be calling me on a draw).
Generally, I think you're asking what size of bet is right for the situation, not necessarily to make it so others won't stick around to draw out on you,.. but so that if they do stick around they are making a mistake in doing so. (am I reading you right here?).
I'd be apt to bet out 1.5xpot, or rr pot if someone has come in ahead of me. I've actually raised a flopped bottom 2pr. 1.5xpot on flop and was called by a member on a gutshot dr., in a buy-in tourney here (yah... I made notes, lol). So much is dependent on the other players on the table that it is difficult to say what is the right bet or not. I think the most basic thing to keep in mind is to be making a bet that if they do call and are on a dr. (esp. in mult-way pot, where the dr's are more likely) they are making a MISTAKE to make the call, given the size of bet you've made (bet to not chase them away, but to make them pay dearly if in fact they are on a dr.).
Another huge factor in choosing what, when or how to bet is the texture of the flop. Is it a dry brd.,... how has the flop possibly hit some of your opponents?

I feel your pain, why do they call when they do not have the odds?
Possibly they do not know about odds, keep making the correct decisions and you will see a profit in the long term.
