Bet sizing in a No Limit cash game is very effectively covered in Harrington's Vol. 1 book on Cash Games. He distinguishes between the size of bet needed to be an effective continuation bet, probe bet, blocking bet, bet to minimize the pot odds of someone drawing, or a value bet. You really need to read this information for yourself to understand the subtle differences between these various sized bets.

It depends so heavily on who your opponents are, how many are in the pot, everyone's position and stack size....not to mention what are you trying to accomplish/what story are you trying to tell. Do you want a caller? Do you want to push them off of their hand? Too many variables. |
