| In position: bet vs. free card? What do you guys feel is the best play if full ring you are in a multi-way pot that was either limped or min-raised pre-flop flop is checked to you on the button you have missed the board but seeing another card could make a hand For example, if you are holding a pocket pair or a suited connector with an inside straight draw on the board. I am not referring to strong draws such as a flush or open-ended straight draws Is betting, even though you are 99% sure you will get at least one caller, the right play or would you check to see another card? Also, would your advice differ from cash to tourney? Thanks. |

| I would bet it if there wasn't any st8 or flush draws. I wouldn't bet if there are more then 3 players in the pot. Also depends on how your opponents are playing. If they are loose then i would tend to take the free card. If they were tighter i would tend to bet half pot. Last edited by tomh7795 : 27th April 2010 at 10:01 PM. |

It would depend on how many people are in the pot. Among other specifics. On second thought - this question is way to vague. Last edited by atlantafalcons0 : 27th April 2010 at 10:03 PM. |

| re: In position: bet vs. free card? poker There plain out isn't enough information for a reasonable answer to be given. You say multi-way, but how many? Are there 3 in the pot or 9? Also, what are the opponents like? Are they very loose and getting into a lot of pots preflop and then folding to any aggression on the flop, or are they playing really tight and trapping when they hit a big hand? Against the first type of player, I am betting like 85% of the time because you will pick up the pot fairly often. Against the 2nd type of player, I am more likely to check and take that free card and hopefully hit my straight or set, but get out to much aggression on the turn if I don't hit. |
