Poker Terminology

Hello I'm new and I've realized (from reading these posts) I don't know much about poker terms. I know how to play but I don't understand the game I guess. I've read some things that explain it but for me it's hard to understand unless someone is coaching me through a hand and explain the terms. All i know is the flop, the turn (or 4th street, i think) and the river (5th street) I learned that from watching poker. I'm not expecting anyone to help me I just wanted to start a topic and see if there are other players who know how to play a little yet don't understand the terminology like me.

books

i have seen many books with all of the poker terms in the back. I suggest you keep one next to you while playing. Eventually they will become second nature.

gutshot is actually the term
gutshot straight draw.
refering to the middle card in a possible straight still being needed.

ex.

5-6-7-8-9 if you had 89 and the flop hit 5610 you would have a gutshot straight draw.

gbpackers, I've disowned the pack for the next 5 years due this ted thompsoness. I was born in Milwaukee and I've ate more beer brots than I can remember. How do you feel about it?
