PokeR is it a tell when a player makes a 'funny/weird sized bet'? When I see a play for example raise 2,499 when the standard raise is 2500 in a 500/1000 stakes, should I interpret the raise size in a specific way?... Do most players raise like this for example when they have specific hands on average? Also the same question if somebody raises me all in except he doesn't... Let's say on the river he raises me 9999 and I have 10000 is there any psychological explanation for his raise size in other Keres is he trying to make i look like he's just 'messing around' and he's holding the nuts?

well when they leave you 1 dollar, I would think they have the nuts, and are trying to humiliate you. On the other hand, it's a great bluff as well, it depends on your instinct and hopefully you have had the chance to play quite a few hands and get a feel for the person. Clear as mud?

re: PokeR is it a tell when a player makes a 'funny/weird sized bet'? I would not read too much into it as in if they have the nuts or not. It is discussed a bit here: what do you call it...

Sometimes when I would prefer a fold from a player, instead of putting them all-in, I will bet slightly less than their entire stack. My thinking behind this is that it is psychologically harder for a player to go all-in in this situation, as they will have to actually raise (possibly move the bet slider) instead of just clicking one button. Someone who is unsure of their hand may be less likely to reraise all-in, then they are to call all-in. Besides for the extra action required for them to do so, the extra few seconds it takes may also allow them to get more nervous and fold.

re: PokeR is it a tell when a player makes a 'funny/weird sized bet'? If villain typically uses odd sized bet amount ie 2762 and keep it consistent with it don't read anything into it. For sure read something into it if it is out of place for this player. It's not the whole picture though. Just 1 piece of the puzzle ur putting together. Has villain showed bluff after doing this before?
