| Poker should I limp with ak heads up in the small blind... Poker With 100 BB vs an unknown player with 100bb should I limp the small blind heads up with ak....? Because I have no history with this guy let's say I raised, and I miss the flop ( obv I will mis most of the time...) because I probably had the best hand pre flop n he's probs missed if I continuation bet since I have no idea how he plays he cud easily float me and I'd have to pretty much check fold the turn... However if I limper and take a stab at the pot blind on the flop since most players don't really expect this to be a bluff ( since a continuation bet pretty much everybody expects u to make that...) a bet here will take down the pot 2/3 times... What do u guys think? |

| I hope your not playing HU with your limited knowledge of the game.Since most sites min for playing HU are pretty high.Floating oop BTW is really high way of thinking vs a unknown i don't really see how you can come to that conclusion. O and never limp the button. |

| I mix my play up HU most times I'll raise ak, but yeah oop its best to raise, but really if you got the stack and blinds arn't gonna eat you alive, so what if you miss and lose a small pot on a once was a good hand ya know I'd consider limping only if the guy was being overly aggressive i.e any time i limp in he raises etc. say I limp he raises, i 3 bet (big) depending on my reads I'll know what to do post flop whether I've hit or not, missing doesn't mean I'll fold either. I don't agree with the never limp or always bet strategy either. I like to build up a story to make them think, ok he only lims in with so and so and only raises with so and so. and thats when I've got them in the palm of my hand cause i never play any hand the same in HU or perhaps I do probably 70% of the time... but enough to insert doubt into the villian and keep him in line. |

As for the bolded part. Most villains aren't going to float you OOP (you are the SB so you have the BTN HU) and you can't chec/fold the turn since if villain calls your cbet he has to act 1st on the turn. I think you're a bit confused. Wanna play some HU??? |

| I guess it really depends on how you have been playing in the SB before. If you habe been raising a lot in the SB or folding and rarely limping then I'd say no because it's so easy to spot when heads up and someone does something out of character like limping with a big hand then it's quite easy to spot. Play it how you have been playing your other trash hands the same, thats what I do anyway, easier to trap them then hope you both hit the flop and you get stacked. |

| ha, you put SHOULD I and HEADS UP in the same post playing backwards in HU is a pretty common strategy, but let's face it ... 2 things you don't want to do HU is to fall into a pattern that the other player can read and, obviously, you don't want to call off the last of your chips not knowing whether you have the best hand or not ... unless you are truly pot committed having the chip lead is so critical heads up, because that means you can win it all on the next/current hand ... even if you just have a couple more chips |

Nah never played HU sngs.. the only time I may decide to get cute and play ak like how I mentioned, if I for instance have a stack of 4.5k plus and blinds are 100/200.. for example if i know everytime I raise from SB he always folds I'll mix it up he may even put me on pockets with this play, its hard to explain perfectly how i come to terms on me doing this as its entirely player dependant.. i.e thinking 2 steps ahead of the hand on whats gonna happen, will it work? etc. |

I think if you don't know they guy, you could hurt yourself by limping. Better off betting big hoping you are trying to buy it and taking down a decent BB rather than limp and get killed by a Q6 that hits a 6 or something. Just my opinion. |
