poker schools on the web???

I do have a question if someone could advise me..... the poker school that I see on some of the poker rooms web site - would it benifit to sign up? Or would observing others and one on one with someone in cardschat that would be willing to give a very uneducated poker beginner some help. As I stated in my introduction. I am 100% disabled and not only is the poker new to me but the computer fanagiling is also.

I think the best thing when you are just starting out is to play low stake and get a few 1000 hands under your belt. Then you will have a basic understanding of the game. This will help it all make sense and make the investment worth it. Also, there is a lot of good info here on cardschat and you can ask question. It helps a lot to talk about hands and how you could have played them differently.

use the forum its free an heaps of good advice once ur confident in ur play/skil level then u can decide if u wanna pay for better tuition u learn by doing is a good maxim

read some books and play as many hands as you can at low limits. Actauylly play will teach you more than anything in the long run. Besides that read through as many threads as possible and ask questions.

I suggest starting with the play money games and freerolls until you get the hang of it and feel more comfortable, then make the move to the low stakes.

I Completely agree, especially since you are disabled and new to computers as well as poker. Not only will you get use to playing poker, but you'll get use to using your computer as well. I can't tell you how many times I've miss-clicked on a table an raised or folded when I meant to do the opposite and cost myself money, and I've been using a computer for a very long time. After you get the hang of playing move over to the money games if you feel comfortable.
