| Poker question about betting patterns? Im a pretty serious poker player, i have won my share of tournaments and money. This is a question for people who take it seriously as well, does anyone besides me find it more effective to watch betting patterns that to study someone for twitching or a physical tell? I wanna hear opinions about this |

I think OP was probably referring to live play. In which case I believe betting patterns are still the best way to go. Many players have "tells" such as shaking, peeking, slouching/sitting up. ect., but it's usually difficult to correctly analyze what these "tells" actually mean in any given hand unless you have been playing against said player for a while. If you think you got a read on an opponents physical tell, it is best to couple that with any reads you have on their betting patterns as well in order to have a better understanding on where you stand in the hand and how to proceed. IMO physical tells are fairly unreliable, and should be used to help sway a close decision, instead of using them as a basis. |

| I rely on someone's elses betting pattern online. Since you can not see them that is your only clue if they really have something. Then there are the players that will always bet whenever they get an ace. Once you have the betting patterns figured out then you wil need to determine if they really have anything or are they bluffing the majority of the time. |
