| Poker Coaching - Adapting to the Change in Landscape I am pretty lucky to have a poker coach in town to work with face to face, as well as online. But since Black Friday I wonder if coaches in general have adapted to the new landscape and the fact that some of us (me included) have pretty much gone exclusively B&M to play for profit (well mostly profit ) . SIDE STORY -Like I said - I'm pretty lucky. My "coach" (we hadn't had a session since before BF) walked into the poker room on Thursday night to play $5-$10 and saw me sitting at a $1-$2 table. He came over to say hi and then asked me if I would want him to sweat me. Well hell yes. We ended up at that table across from each other for about 6 hours followed by a one hour one-on-one briefing where he revealed all the physical and betting tells he picked up on me - and OH MY GOD - I was freaking amazed. I knew he was good but that was just incredible. He also covered the strategies for $1-$2 using the hands we had just played. NO CHARGE There is just no substitute for that kind of session. So I am wondering - are other coaches adapting to us who have been forced into more live play? Anyone else getting live face to face help? |
