Matthew Hilger wrote a book about online poker (older book, but a good basic info start). Ed Miller wrote Small Stakes Hold'Em, but then that's limit poker. Dan Harrington has a great series out on NL hold'em and tournament play, but that's over 5 books... Naming 1 book is going to be very hard because: A) There is no 1 answer to the game. B) What kind of play do you enjoy, and most of all C) Getting information from a bunch of sources can shape your style of play and make you a better all round player. I can say this: If you read one book and try and emulate that player, most likely you will screw up the nuances of the style and not be as successful as you think you should because the author obviously is fairly good at his style. Good luck |

| I have 3 suggestions for you: 1) Dusty Schmidt's "Treat your poker like a business": Focuses on internet poker and BRM. 2)Phil Gordon's "Little Green Book": Best All-around poker book I've read, plus it's easy to understand and not very long. 3)Colin Moshman's "Sit'n Go Strategy" : Ok, this one focuses on SNGs only but it's the top notch book on that matter! You'll hugely improve in SNG after reading this! Ideally I'd push you towards reading all 3 of these books or at least getting all of them now then seeing which one you like the most (to ultimately read the others). But trust me, I tried to read other poker books, and every time I stopped them because I switched to one of these since they instantly helped my play...Have a nice read |

| re: poker books about playing online Have a look here: Poker Books You Must Own You haven't specified what game you play, what stakes, cash or tourneys...there's a little bit for everyone in that thread, specifically the link to Aliengenuis' thread. |

| I suggest searching poker articles in the internet and learning from them instead. You could also go by way of experience but you'd have to prepare to lose some money if you dive in without proper knowledge. You could also maybe ask a friend to help you out if you have any friends that know anything about poker. |
