Pocket KK's running into AA's micro cash games Am I ever folding them? Am I just supposed to look at it as it'll even out in the long run? Is that the correct way to feel about it as I'll be on the other end eventually? From what I've read it seems that it's not something people can really agree on.

In a micro cash game, you should never fold them. You will be called and shoved on by so much worse, so often. Now if it is the river and there are four hearts out there and you don't have any, now that is a time to throw those bad boys away. Preflop, don't throw 'em away.

no you can never fold KK(preflop anyway). and your right you lost nothing in the long run. as you can expect the villian will never fold KK to your AA. so its a wash. how you make money is in the hands you play differently from the villian and win more $ or lose less than they would of. hands where you squeeze out a thin vbet where the villian ould of checked or make a good fold where they may have called. this is where you make $ on the villian. but most of your money will come from really bad players that are willing to get allin with junk vs your KK.

I played a CC event a couple years ago and due to how the guy was playing I had him on A/A. I had K/K. It was the only moment I seriously contemplated folding K/K. I wanted to fold, but I remembered Harrington saying that nobody is good enough to fold K/K correctly often enough to make it a profitably play. So I called. He had A/A. I flopped a set FTW. In the micros I ran into a few players who were so tight/predictable that they'd only stack pre-flop with A/A or K/K. And the odds of running into another K/K are very slim. So I can see folding to them. But for the most part, they're not foldable pre-flop. one out of 25 or so times this happens, and you get burned. But them's thebreaks.

Folding KK preflop is never a good play unless ur in the bubble of a big tourney. Lets say you have KK for a 100 hands, your likely to win 61 of them and get beat/scked out with the rest. Gotta risk money to win and if u lose, this is where BR management comes to play

| re: Pocket KK's running into AA's micro cash games poker Keep in mind when you mention, this is for the new players, that when Freerollsftw mentions you will win 61 times out of 100 holding KK that it is in a heads up situation. If there are mutiple players in the hand preflop each all in then your odds of winning decrease with each person that comes into the pot. Most new players will be playing freerolls or at very low stakes where it is not unheard of to see 3 or even 4 people in a pot that someone has bet all their chips. Quote:

The poker god rarely deals you KK's or AA's so enjoy them. If you have KK's and someone else has AA's you need to pray more or sacrifice something ( more than your opponent ) to the poker god. So next time your the one with the AA's. Isn't that how it works?

Hey I seen another game where a guy folded KK, there was AAvsKKvsQQ. They guy with the kings folded.Other two went in.Flop came with a K. Q on the river, so the guy with the aces still got beat anyway. Search craziest ever poker hand on youtube I think the title is AAvsKKvsQQ

re: Pocket KK's running into AA's micro cash games poker In a micro cash game, I can't imagine where I'd fold KK pre-flop. And I'll be glad to get it all in pre-flo. My EV is highly positive against the opponents' range of hands that they'll play for all their money. That includes the times I run into AA and also the ones where I take beats. And if I lose, I just reload unless I have a good reason. It's a cash game. If I can't or won't do that, I shouldn't be playing in the first place.

In micro stakes I have trouble even folding jacks as the way I play I get people to really open up their ranges, I've had people shove in their 100bb stack on my 3/4 bet with nines, tens and a lot of not so good aces pre-flop. Definately should almost never be folding kings unless you want to look like an idiot like that poor guy on the WSOP clip.

Never pf often post You should fold them quite often when A hits the board(considering odds) on micros.Higher levels of course it would work against you...When you start playing (or play already) higher stakes you understand why...

Isn't it in Harrington's Books... "the 4th raise is AA" (or is that in Gordon's books?). They're not referring to micro cash tables anyways, lol. Against certain players and depending upon the action,... yah I've been pretty certain I was up against AA (cuz I highly doubted it was QQ, less likely to be KK obv., and not the type of player to be getting it in w AK). Did I fold... nope. Did they have AA... yup.

Thanks for all the replies. Ya, I feel dumb for asking it now. I think I was just playing too scared and was too worried about losing. It's just really frustrating to lose buy-ins at the micros to coolers because turning a profit is pretty slow going. I've been playing the cash games on FT for Take 2 and the first couple days I had my KK's run into AA's and QQ's ran into KK's and I've been digging myself out of that hole slowly ever since.

re: Pocket KK's running into AA's micro cash games poker You probably should fold, but lets be honest, you're not going in a micro game. Maybe if it's a 10/25 cent micro game. This happens much more often that people think too. At least once a day if you play a lot of hours.
