| PLO8, flopping 2 pair oop Just a general question here and I`ll try to give an example of a hand that has just happened... 18 player SNG $7 PLO8 Turbo on Pokerstars Blinds 15/ 30 I`m in the SB with 2cJd2h5h. 4 callers including the button who likes to see lots of flops. I call the 15 to see if I can hit miracle flop. Flop 5dJs4s... I have 2 pair. I was not happy with position and the button - he seems to be in a `bust or double` kind of mode, with an ROI on sharkscope of -25%, so a loose cannon I guess? I check, its checked around to the button who bets pot, so I fold. Weak play by me or what? As it happened, the turn was another 5, so I would have had a FH. The loos cannon was raising with nothing more than a pair 5`s (He had been holding 9c9s5sQc - he took down pot with with 3 x 5`s) |

| I prolly just fold pre. Your two pair kinda sucks there on that draw heavy board. You're only a 54% favorite against a random hand. You're a significant dog to any random A2. You haven't flopped any sort of fit at all. And lastly, this post kinda implies that you're not exactly great at reading flop textures or thinking about LO8 equity. I suppose this is in learning poker, but I'd want to be playing lower stakes if my game was at this stage. |

| I've gotta go with the above - fold preflop for graet justice. Yes it's cheap and yes you might hit some miracle flop but no, that's not a good enough reason to hang around, particularly early in a SnG when conserving chips and avoiding marginal spots is important. |

And for all of u, u think fold preflop? So not worth putting in 15 chips of my stack of 1500 to see a flop with a pot worth 150 ? |

Plus what I do play a whole heap of is SnGs and in early blinds you should be able to throw away a rubbish hand from the SB without even thinking about it. Saving the 15 chips is almost always going to be better than speculating on some miracle flop, especially in a game where if you flop big you'll probably still only be in the running for half the pot. |

| I think it was ok to call in the sb with 7/1po to see a flop.Fold on the flop. You don't know if the other 2 will call after you and it is a very draw heavy board. Whey to many cards can fall that would scare you off your hand and not much to improve your hand since your only looking for a 5orj. If a two dropped it would give you bottom set which isn't strong in omaha and would complete low/straight possibilites and one of 2s is a spade which would complete flush. I don't think theres anything wrong with calling half a bet to see a flop. |

Playing high in PLO8 with no scoop (lo) potential is a recipe for disaster and will bleed you dry in short order. Without A2 or A3, your hand is usually not a starter in PLO8. Hutchinson or Hutchison has a starting hand chart on the web somewhere.. BTW Loose Cannon was playing garbage also, his starters don't make it in PLO, let alone in 8, don't try and play his game ;(, wait for good starters and bust him!! NO it was not a weak play by you after the flop - it was the correct play. You had no business being there to begin with and you recognized immediately that hitting top two pair does not constitute a "miracle flop" (some would). Don't worry about the outcome - hell just yesterday a guy took down the pot with a pair of sevens and I folded my JJQA. That was the right fold too! |
