playing shortstackers

I've been experimenting at 10nl playing shorthanded against shortstackers preferably 50-60bb with some success.

I don't know if its +/-ev longterm but playing them very aggro in postion taking advantage of their inability to play post flop. Because of table image and declining stack they're willing to stack off light and then whamoa u show up w/ a monster.

Could this be a good run maybe/prob, just wondering what others think?

most short stacks are bad players. as far EV i am not sure, because to play againest a small stack you have to, have a good hand. so if your not
getting cards you don't have pot odds to play small pocket pairs, suited connectors or marginal hands.

people have told me that they love playing againest shorties, because they are such bad players. so maybe there is some + EV. you just have to wait for good cards and have good reads on them, because they can be a pain in the ass.

full ring and 6max I definitely agree they're a pain but if it's 3 of us I love it, no room for them to limp, call preflop cuz I punish them for doing so. And soon after that they become quite impatient then hit'em with a MAC truck.

I just find they have no room to play cuz they don't have anywhere to hide. With distribution of cards they cant have good cards to shove on in general and they become transparent.

your right about punishing the limpers, don't let those clowns see a flop.
also if they do push on you, alot of the time i see them pushing weak aces. so i would say call with A10 or better, maybe even A9.

The advantage of playing against people that are fully stacked is that when you hit your hand you will get more value. If you have AA on an A82 board you would surely rather be playing against a $10 stack than a $3 stack. But, if you notice someone who keeps a full stack at 10nl they are more than likely going to be a more solid player than someone who is playing with a short stack.

The advantage of playing against a short stack is the exact opposite of that above. If you have JT on a T92 board you would much rather be against the short stack.

As for me, I do notice that the short stacks usually are weaker players at the lower stakes. My only suggestion would be to try out both of them and go with the one you have more success in.

50-60bb are not called shortstackers. They are just random fishes. Shortstackers play 20bb deep, and they can be a serious pain in the ass if they know how to play the style.

50-60 BB is definitely not a shortstack by any means.
When it comes to playing REAL shortstacks, I'd be very careful. If it's a good player, he'll only play monster hands.

I usually play really aggressive against short stacks, but this isn't always the best way. Sometimes they can trap you with a big hand. Then you will end up doubling them up and losing some of yours. It might not seem like that big of a deal but doing it too much well cripple you.
