| It is probably wrong however I wouldn't really want someone else's notes. If you have different styles of play those notes probably would be the same on a particular player anyway. As well as the fact I find within 5 min at a table you can usually get an idea of type of a player someone is. |

| I've never thought about that. It would be an extremely tedious process to share your notes unless there was a specific download or something where they are all kept. Hmm Idk the programs enough to know if that is do able so beyond being unstable and probablly tedious it seems much less worth the hassle. Stix |

Not good sportsmanship? Not sure I'd go that far. But, as far as talking to others about players about others and sharing what you know about particular players and their style, I don't see why this is a problem. |

Data mining is sharing hand histories. Discussng hands or sharing what you know about a player is not. Like if I told you that IllyPhilly can't get away from top pair--this is not data mining. Quote:

| Pretty sure it violates the rules. The sites have rules against just looking at a site like "poker table ratings" while you are actually playing since you are getting information on a player on hands you were not personally involved in. If that is against the rules, then i'm pretty sure that uploading your entire 'notes' to someone else wouldn't be kosher either. |

Therefor you are sharing information you have picked up with people who havt picked up the information Player notes are reads you pick up at the tables, say you make a note someone is LAG, and you tell a friend to do the same on the same person, then you have told them something they didnt earn for themselves. If it isnt data mining its a pretty thin line |

| I'm a member of stoxpoker and cardrunners. And most of the training videos discuss how differents player play. In a lot of these videos you actually get to see the instructors take notes on various villains. As far as I know this is allowed. So I'd say this is defiantly grey area. |

| I don't think its a problem if your just talking to someone and comparing players but I can't really see the point of sharing 'notes' - how often are you gonna play with these people? ok you can search for them but what are you gonna learn from someone else's notes that you won't learn within an hour anyway? The notes may be totally wrong or not informative. I suppose if your playing high stakes it might be worth something but in micros, where most people are, i'd say its pointless. (+1 to sly- have more detailed notes on good players than bad ones.) |

Not to mention that it is probably an unethical thing to do..... I hope I am not going to be roasted for that comparison. I may start a new movement: Feminists united against Fletchdad....uh oh...... One of my best friends is lesbian, does that clear me???? |
