The worst part is this happened to me 2 times in less than 500 hands with the 10 making the full house on the river when i had the nut straight on the flop. |

| Pot Limit Couldn't move him off 5's on flop with $0.30 bet, NL could have raised higher and shoved him out. Although nut 5 card flop you'd think I'd want him to call, still say he has 78s or a Pocket over pair, he's drawing to a better hand so I want to make it as expensive as possible. My stack was about 20% bigger than his so an 80% bet of his stack will make him hesitate with 5's on flop. In reality I would want him to call, since his hand was variance anyways and most of the time I would win, |

| Needed more explanation After I posted my last I realized that I didn't explain very well so i edited it but the 30 min had already passed, that said: I have the nuts on the flop and you may think I would want a call/raise but I only had like 5 hands against this guy and he was a complete unknown. The over bet is good for me because I normally want him to call. The problem is that 34, 45, 35, 33, 44, 55 are all drawing to FH and 68, 78, is drawing to a higher gutshot. in addition pocket over pairs 8', 9's, 10's, etc. and hands like A3, A4, A5 are drawing to FH so I want to make him pay dearly to buy cards. These hands are unlikely to make so I do want him to call the raise after the flop. Turn comes now I've got top pair on board. his call suggests he made trips (pocket 5's for the 4 of a kind or the 35, 45 FH is unlikely since he didn't reraise) the other possibilities are he has the pocket over pair (below K's) and is hoping for the FH on River. I'm putting him on A5 or K5 in this spot so when river turns 10 I feel safe. It's not having any read on this guy's play, notice how nitish he played the FH (did he really consider I had the pocket 10's for the nut FH?). Also look at his starting hand 10,5 is this a hand worth calling UTG Pre-flop? So this guy's a real fish that I want to play heads up 19 out of 20 times and variance got me this time. I still want to move an unknown off post flop simply because there are so many hands that I can get beat with, while I cannot get any better. It's a bird in the hand thing, when I can't get a read |
