yes, but ranking has nothing to do with a player. many different factors and placebo's could be involved. as for me, my dad and friends also play on my account. they're not as good as me but this is for fun for me, not sport. My sport is golf! so only pay attention to those stats when you can tell how the player is prior to bringing your attention to his stats

Well, you can always use bad stats in your favor. If you're ashamed, you'll be more motivated to play better, and when you play more solid, people who have looked at your stats have a higher chance of paying you off, assuming you are playing well, lol.

Stats can be in your favor, especially if they are showing something like mentioned above about other players using an account. Mine has some weird fluctuations because I've been working with another player on some specific strategy testing. Very deceiving for the viewer if they are trying to analyze me from the stats - lol.

| Be careful checking stats on OfficialPokerrankings and Sharkscope while PokerStars is running especially if you're involved in a tournament as you're checking them. I used to sharkscope people in the middle of SNG's if I was curious about them, and back in November I got a warning email from Pokerstars telling me that it's against their Terms of Use to do that and I could be banned if I did it again. If i find the link to the thread I posted regarding it I'll edit this post and throw it in there. here it is Pokerstars-Sharkscope detection. Not sure if the same goes for OPR.com or not but I always shut down Stars before I check either one. Also, another good stat site to check that I just found recently is PokerProLabs.com TopShark service. Totally free and unlimited unlike Scope and provides detailed results from individual tournaments as well as search filters, and a rating system for how 'good' you are broken up into MTT's, SNG's, and Heads Up SNG's. Good for even analyzing yourself, but its cool to check back in SNG's or MTT's and see what your rating is in comparison to who you beat or were beaten by. | Yo -- I just tried PokerProLabs.com. What an excellent site. I love to look at the real stats. Interesting how perception/reputation often varies greatly from reality. For example, players will talk about their big scores, yet never mention the 100 other tournaments in which they were shut out. |

re: official poker rankings I won't have any real use for Official Poker Rankings or any of those sites until they start including BoDog stats. Even then, I'm not sure I'd be that interested. The dollar amount in my account keeps getting bigger, and that's a good enough ranking for me.
