$$$ November SNG Thread $$$

Well November has come up way too quick and it is time to start a new SNG thread! Looks like November will be a good month as there is the Collin Moshman interview coming up and the November SNG challenge.

I didnt have a very good october and I am determined to turn that around so I have set myself some decent goals for the month.

1.Buy Holdem Manager
2.Deposit on Pokerstars
3.Play only when not tired, changing from night shift to day shift will be good
4.Play only $3.40 SNGs on stars,MTTs will be on FT
5.Play only one table at a time for first week
6.Focus on every tourney, no webpages or other things in background.
7.Try to predict opponents hole cards in every hand, not just the ones I play
8.Collin Moshmans SNG strategy will be delivered
9.Read it
10.Set up HEM properly for SNGs, it would be great if people could share their configurations that they have going for sit n gos so I can get an idea of which stats are most important to have in front of you
11. Review every tournament.

I shall take a number 6 please. Must stop doing stuff and playing poker, I think the answer for me will be to play two tables and see what happens. Will be my last chance for regular poker this week so hopefully I can increse the bankroll a little bit fot the inevitable rust that I shall have when I play next.

Have a good month everyone.

1) Play at least 200 SNG's (had 181 in Oct.)
2) Move up in stakes if possible.
3) Make the final table in a large $2.20 MTT on PS. (Got so close in Oct.)
4) Don't let the grades slip (this goal is so directly affected by poker I thought I'd include it lol.)

Whole day sucked (or rather sucked out)

No apparent tilt although I lost twice boat over boat on the river and a flopped nutflush vs flopped straight flush.

Can't evade these I guess......

- was down 27$ until the last game, a 180 player 2$ FT sng.

Made 5th for 27$ lol - so I moved sideways at least (+ 100 FTPs).

I play at Pokerstars. I don't like the sng's at FT - the normal speed ones are like turbos with only 6 minute blind levels. Besides I at least get to play in the Pokerlisting freerolls at Pokerstars when I earn points - I get nothing at FT.

re: $$$ November SNG Thread $$$ poker

I despise turbos, so I only play regular SNGs and I am not very good at multi tabling. I am going to have to amend my goal of 300 SNGs to 150 as I can only play 4 in two hours. I start a new table when the blinds get to 50 /100 on the other one.

In my 10 games (using last night and tonight) so far: $5.50 - 1 table SNGs

1st - 2
2nd - 3
3rd - 2
N/C - 3

ROI - 83 % - Let's hope the rest of November goes this well

Ya, all turbo's.

Only playing the $3.40's right now trying to get back in the swing of things as far as sng's go. Haven't played any before today in over a month.

Regular speed is just to slow for me, Sng's are all about the push/fold in the later stages and that is where they are won, so with turbo's I get to that point faster.

November goals :

1. I know it's SNG thread but keep that 30BB/100 on PLO 6 max ring games in order to put bankroll at a level I'm comfortable with to replay higher buy-ins SNGs later with less BR management concerns

2 Due to the fact October have been kind of disastrous month for SNG (was playing 9 players 12$ turbo on FT with positive ROI until September and then i finished October playing 6.5$ ones with a negative ROI), trying to switch from turbos to standard ones : actually I play only turbo SNGs due to lack of time but as Debi said difference between turbo and standard structures aren't that high (6mn vs 3mn) so I may have to do that switch in order to see if it's turbo strucutre that is my problem or if it's more a problem on my own play (which i highly suspect as bad beats alones can't explain such an hideous month even if SNG Wiz didn't report many errors in my pushing and calling ranges).

3 So that would say playing 5.5 6 man and 9 man to begin November with.

4 Moving back to the 10's $ SNG before the end of the month.

5 Post more consistently SNG hands where I find my play to be debatable and be more active in analyzing SNG hands posted here on CC.

We'll how much goals I'll respect and succeed in (me think I would have a hard time to respect goal number 5 but let's see...)

I definitely raise more pre, probably to around 150. The reason I say 150 is that the majority of the opponents you will face will call 150 if they will call 90. So value wise it is good to raise bigger early. Once the blinds get higher you can revert back to the 3x raise. Your in the early stages and 7's aren't really that strong of a hand, but, I don't have a problem playing them.

Raise to 150 or so and be happy to take the pot down right now.

The flop is a pretty safe one for you, no flush or straight draws and only one over card.

When it is checked to you, I definitely put a bet in here. Odds are he missed and will fold, if he calls and no scare cards come I raise the turn if he bets and call the river after the jack comes.

I've found in these low limit tournaments that those small bets scream bluff. They have the Idea that they want to try and steal the pot but they don't want to risk a lot of money.

It's a little of both. I play turbo's and play 9 at a time. Variance can be killer in the turbo's so I like to have a little extra cushion.

It's also a comfort thing, I don't want to have to reload if I go on a bad run. I want to have enough buyin's to withstand variance.

You could get by with 40-50 buyins if you wanted to.

2 options I can see right off the top of my head.

1. Use google docs for your spreadsheet, then you can link directly to it (only editable by you we just see the numbers)

2. Take a screenshot of your excel spreadsheet. Just make sure everything you want is on the screen and press your "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Open up MS Paint (Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Paint) and press Ctrl + V (Paste). Then just save it, and upload it to photobucket.com which you can then link here.

Good luck!
