*** November MTT Thread ***

I needed somewhere to post some amusing hands. Also, you can talk about mtt structure, strategy, a little bbv here. I think that's what happens in these threads. Anyway, good luck this month. I decided cash games are too frustrating for me recently and am starting to play more mtts.

I have started off okay in November. I made it deep in the 15k last night - finished 26 out of 2583. On my last hand I had QQ and got called by AK and an A flopped. Overall I think I played well - soooo close to the big bucks lol.

It is nice to start the month out ahead for a change.

Reposting my result in here since this thread was just made.
Already accomplished one of my goals for November, which was to make a final table on a 2.20 MTT. December I will have to win one!!!

I made a deep run yesterday on the 109$ Turbo Hondo finishing 25 of 232 being very short stack for more than an hour.

Then double up with QQ just before bubble.

I'm still unsatisfied with the hand I've been busted with (I posted it in the Tournament analysis forum but didn't show results yet) : I had TT with a M of 5 but was in the first 5 of the tournament. Even if it sounds weak I definitely should have limped it and folded to any raise of the 2 guys who had me covered but obviously called every short stack at the table.
I guess that's the difference between the 100's $ profit for the 25th place and the 6K for the win.

Shall try to play one 26 to 55$ tournament every weekday : today I've just register in the 55$ 12500 Guaranteed so wish me luck !

re: *** November MTT Thread *** poker

well ITM again on 55$ 12500 Guaranteed and once again a lot of frustration.

this time I've been chip leader soon on tournament and always in top 15-20 during the first 2h30mn.
Then a silly attempt to steal on blinds battle against AA cost me half of my stack.
Still pass the bubble and been busted on 35th with AQ against QT

Well at least my MTT game seems OK but still have to avoid those pre or post bubble mistakes that avoid me to go deeper.

At least soomeone made a deep run on a MTT those late days WTG Errant

After last months dreadfull finish I am trying to get back in the saddle.

First 4 days: Sun-small gain, Mon-small loss, Tue-gain, Wed-gain.
This month is looking good, as there is a lot to look forward to.
I have qualified to the Swedish online championships at the end of this month, and I have managed to qualify to two 10k freerolls in the FTOPS challenge.
(Doing well in CC tourneys help too, thats basicly what saved me last month.)

I was horribly streaky last month and definitely ended up in the red. For instance: I would re-raise with K's pre and the guy folded. I win the hand against another, everyone saw what I had. Then a few orbits later the same guy raises pre, I re-raise again, and for some reason he decides I have nothing this time and pushes with 8s all-in preflop and flops trips. I am the ultimate cooler in $2 and $3 donkaments. If I manage to make a decent sized stack or even make the money and am sitting decently, shit flies every damn time. It never ceases to amaze me what mediocre cards people call me with and somehow come from behind a good majority of the time. 2 outs? Sure, put a ten on the river to crack my pocket Q's. It goes on and on. If I got lucky earlier, then I'm bound to be crapped on sooner or later by someone playing/calling with garbage/a lesser hand. I'm going to look-up the month's knockout hands in the DB and see if this is unreal. It often crosses my mind, since I never truly deposited, I get the shaft more often than not. The doom-switch can kiss my priss.

This one helped my bankroll

stars had an experimental game .I thought i entered a regular 3.00 MTT

It was a 4 player table MTT .

I had to change my hat real quick and become a LAG (unusual for me)
This tourney would suit the aggros because most of the peeps had no idea how to play it. I got lucky and finished 2nd.

Means next Month(December) I can play some 10$ MTTS

Start of the month on MTTs has been good for me : 2 cashes on 55 and 109$ buy-in and bubbles on each 26 and 55$ I played which means my game is there and I'm playing at a level I master.
Just a few coin-flips going on the good side or avoid one or 2 bad plays and that should be a profitable month

I've also managed to win a 256$ ticket to FTOPS event 8 today but I unregistered as I couldn't play.

Tomorrow I'll begin the championship of my French forum : 24 events till May with the first 9 going to WSOP 2010
Already had a warm-up and finished ITM
So hopefully my A game will stick with me till May and I can managed to do something good there

Didn`t play a MTT for a while, but just cash games lately.
Entered the OFC at full tilf today, the $5 buyin , that I finished in final table twice rcently and did it again.
Took 2nd again for a nice cash and some points for the forum freeroll.

Ive been playing the 90 man Full tilt Deep stacked turbo sitngos lately and im really loving the way they are going. The structure allows you to wait for a decent hand before getting it all in but when you reach the final table almost everyone has about 10 or 15 bbs so you need to know how to shove it in there with the best of them. Ive played about 10, won one, third in one and sixth in another...

Gratz Labman & Debi!

I haven't done well this month. I haven't played either without non stop distractions and I will finally get a chance to do it starting in December, on Sundays. So I am not playing much this month, I'll end up losing my silver star which sucks but hopefully I can get it back in December.

After my big wins at the casino whilst on holidays i got back and decided to have a crack at the big doubles on FT $60+15 A . I got in A but missed B lol. There were 200 starters with 27 cashing.

I finished 5th for $870.

Last hand (JJ) i was short stack UTG raised i reraised allin he called AQ and hit his A on the flop. But a very nice ROI on the trny anyway :-)

I've actually been doing well since I came back to poker and I think it's because I have a really good diciplined mindset right now. I have a lot of patience and I think a lot of stuff through, I mean I did befor but now I feel like I'm on a different level. Even when it was later in the mtts I won recently I did well stealing and since I got 1st in both I feel like I played the Final tables to the "T" and am getting less and less nervous and uncomfortable at them so I make good calls and catch bluffs/make good bluffs.

I also was talking to Pooffy about how important it is to become aggressive and bully while getting in the money/bubble and that you have to continue to stay aggressive in order to beat the late part of the mtt, which many people get scared and blind down because they don't make moves. I wouldn't mind talking strat about that or sweating someone in the concept. Every mtt I won a good amountof money in was done by being aggressive enough to small ball my through the late stages to the final table by stealing in the right spots by reading my opponents and knowing the right time to do it.

I would love to sweat some tournies with you. I have been thinking for a while now of having 4 or 5 players, ala the Hendon Mob that all we do is talk strategy, review hand histories etc...
I really want to take my MTT game to the next level and I think this would be good for all involved.

Just took down another 180 player MTT. It didn't hurt that at the final table, with only 3 BB left, in the BB my 77 cracked AA on the river.

Live and online, my goal for November is to work on my 'blow ups'. For example:

I was playing in my local 25+5 tournament (usually 60 people or so) and I'm just straight rolling people all night. Starting stack of 5000, and after 5-6 levels I'm sitting in probably 3-4th place with 23k or so.

On my BB I get dealt AKs (blinds are 500/1000 with 100 ante). 2 people call, SB folds, and look at the 4000 or so in the pot and raise it up to 2200. UTG+2 shoves over top with another ~10k. I sit and think about it, knowing he probably has a high PP, but end up making the call, and sure enough he flips over aces. Had I folded that hand, I would have easily made the final table, as there were only 13 people left at this point.

Just seems like I've been going deep very often live/online recently, only to make some silly mental error that costs me very big.

I would really enjoy reading your strategy thread if you would do one.
It would really be nice to have a thread to refer to for your thoughts.

I definately dont feel I am competeing with you and I enjoy your post but as with others its hard to get a good grasp of someones overall strategy when post are spread out amoung many threads and not done in any particular order.

I really hope you do a thread and I will watch for it!
