No books, Internet Help Well im a micro player, and grinding the micros is difficult enough especially when im losing the way i am. So i'm looking for advice through the internet, articles or videos or even advice from fellow members that I would maybe find in books. Instead of paying for the books, I really am hoping for some good techniques that can help my game very much. I play No Limit Hold em, I play mostly Micro Sit N Go's with 9 people, Double Or nothings, Ring Games on the .01cent/.02cent tables, & have started getting my feet wet in the heads up matches for Sit N Go's. If anyone has any videos, or articles or just help they can provide me in these categories that can make me a winning player in each of these types of games, I'd greatly appreciate it since I don't have the money to go buy a book like "Treat Your Poker LIke a Business".

First, start by taking the time to browse through the CC forums. This place is a goldmine of information and a lot of what you need to know has been covered. If you don't find specifically what you are looking for, start a thread with your question. Be as specific as you can with your question, and you will get a lot of great advice. I'd also advise posting up any hands where you find yourself in trouble spots in the Hand Analysis forum. There you will find a lot of solid advice on different lines you could have taken with said hand. One last thing. If you are losing like you said you are, try sticking with one format. Mixing up a lot of .1/.2 with some DoN's and SNG will only make the problem worse, as these formats require different skill sets to beat. Pick one and stick with it for a while until you feel you are beating it comfortably. Last edited by TheKAAHK : 2nd February 2011 at 7:09 AM. Reason: addition to post...

Try this: http://www.cardschat.com/poker-strategy.php Then if you have questions about a particular hand post it in the appropriate hand analysis thread.

Damn studied most of the tips, browsed through some...skimmed through some, and after that lost $12 through a mixture of ring games & sit N go's....and $12 might not be a lot for you guys...but for someone on a $40 bankroll...thats a lot

Sorry that happened to you. You can play perfectly and variance will still get you sometimes. If I might suggest, don't mix different types of games when you are learning. Pick either sit'n go or cash games. Don't play a mixture. Pick one and learn it well. Good luck

Also after reading the strategic articles posted on CardsChat, i was wondering is there any information like that in video form that could make it easier? Or just information on videos or youtube about starting tips for ring games and grdining it out on the micros?

Noone can be a perfect player, every player in the world can improve their game no matter how good or bad they are. I wouldn't bother with the DoN games personally, there are far to many regulars who are still way ahead in terms of knowledge and game play for these. I'd personally stick to your cash games 2nl OR 0.10c/0.25c SnG's. Playing $1.00 SnG's and $2.20 Headups SnG's with a $40 BR now $28 isn't really a good way as it doesn't leave you much room for error and variance. ps: You can try pokertube for free videos or google poker videos and pay if you really want to improve your game for some coaches who upload their video plays in a session. Could be cash,SnG,MTT etcetc but all are really good winning players so you can't really go wrong with watching their play! Goodluck! |
