NL $0.05/$0.10

Ok if you are playing with $3 buy ins. And you lose 2 buy ins. Is it advisable to then play with a $7 buy in to recover the earlier loss, my bankroll is $180 which i started with from $150.

Or is it better to continue playing with $3 buy ins?

Shouldn't your BI be $10 (100BB)? If you play shortstacked, I don't see why you should put up a bigger BI to recover. Doing stuff to recover losses is usually a path to doom.

Yeah and if you lose the $7 you should play a $20 game so you can make back the $13 and $7 more. If you lose that I would recommend playing a $50 super turbo because you'll make everything back even quicker when you win.

If you're playing 25nl with a bankroll of <$200, me thinks you'll be re-depositing real soon.

You can barely beat the high rake at 10NL playing with full stack against idiots...

Even Jesus can't beat 10NL with 20-30BB stack. Don't play short

If you're only comfortable sitting with $3 on the tables, you really should consider playing at lower limits (ie. 2nl & buyin for 100b's > $2, or maybe 5nl for $5).

It's best to learn how to play cash tables with a stack of 100bb's. If you're uncomfortable sitting with a deeper stack (say you win a couple pots & stack goes up to 200bb's), you can always leave the table & then find another one (although if we've found fishy players on the table it'd probably be better to just stay there).

^^^This, if you are playing at a 10nl table with $3, you are doing it wrong.
If that is all you are comfortable sitting with, you should drop stakes.

Why? There's nothing wrong with shortstacking. It's a less ability based tactic but you earn quicker rake by doing it and it's easier to mass multi table because your decisions are easier on the whole. I don't personally do it, but I accept that there are both positives and negatives. I concur that doing it with $180 is a bad idea, because short stacking is a swingier game IMO.

No, but you are missing out on a ton of value when you get a great hand and the flop works with you...
I die a little inside when I flop a full house or flush and I am not topped off.

To be honest, reading the OP, I feel that he does not have the basic understanding of stacks so shortstacking is probably not a matter of strategy.
