Newbie at NL10

Hello I've just recently started playing NL10 at FT. I'm finding it rather difficult to be a consistent winner . I sort of just float around my starting bankroll - never too much up or down.

Is there anything in particular that will help me to bump up my game a notch?

Thanks in advance
M.

Welcome to Cardschat.

Pretty hard to give suggestions without anything to go on.

There are some general cash game recommendations if you search ChuckTs 10,000 post thread or Tenbob's 10NL thread.

Otherwise, post some stats from your play or some specific hand histories so we have some basis for suggestions.

Hey AG welcome back.

I think what he means is that at 10nl you seem to get a lot of calling stations who want to see all 5 cards on the board. This makes it difficult to push ppl off hands etc.

Learn the art of bankroll management 1st off. It will help youo so much especially tilt issues. If you manage to get on a decent run get upto 25nl where the play will be a little better, but there's still plenty of juicy fish to make a decent profit. Also read the strategy article at the top of the page.

And as Lions suggests post your Poker Tracker stats, and HH's so we can try and analyse your mistakes if any.

i find 10NL pretty easy to be profitable, what you're looking to do is find tables with high % of plrs/flop and play very few hands at this limit hardly if any at all pay attention to what the tables doing. I wouldn't bluff at all at this limit unless you know the player you're bluffing will fold, because there is a bunch of calling stations with med/bot pair, use this to you're advantage and value bet them not bluff.

First off, move to Stars. Someone correct me if I'm wrong (I'm too lazy to go and check for myself), but isn't the rake at NL10 on Stars half that of FT's?

Yes, full tilt's rake at 10NL is twice as much as stars'. Still beatable, but most of your edge does go to pay for the extra rake.

Also, imo, the players are a bit more fishy at pokerstars than at full tilt, but i don't really have enough hands on both sites at 10NL to make this more than a hunch. I moved to 25NL pretty fast.

Yea, either deposit more at FT and move up to NL25, or switch to another site. 10% rake or whatever joke FT charges makes winning a significant amount incredibly difficult.
