Low stakes like the one's your playing can be the hardest and most frustrating to play, when stakes are low it is hard to play top ten poker and win. For one, people play more the style of luck poker, cuz the blinds are so low. So u will see more flushes and straights chased, more "favorite hands" played. There is no punishment for playing bad cards, if they lose it's just add more chips. I have learned to play sit-n-go's because it fits my style of play. When u play bad your out, no adding chips. But u have to practice and find out what kind of player do u want to be, cash play, tournament player. When u figure this out then u can decide what kind to play. And to be a winning poker player, u have to lose a little before u win a little, lol

Yah the one table double or nothing tables at Pokerstars is a great way to build a bank roll. Just play real tight until the blinds start rising too much, play your hands and position to represent strong cards when you have them. Then you can move up to .10 .25 ring games once you have a bigger bank roll. ' It shouldnt take long. Good luck

theres people who just sit out the whole game and ive seen em win because theres "idiots" lol but is that aginst the rules or no because its technically just folding everything, paying the blinds Last edited by sn4ke1 : 5th December 2008 at 6:58 AM.

i would recommend the 9 man 1.20 sit n go's. These are extremely beatable and are more rewarding to the good players than the double or nothing. I seem to have a pretty solid strategy with SnG's and would love to help you out, i'm sure its late now and don't know if your on but i could deff. give you some basic strategy to help you beat the micro SnG's with ease. Pm me if interested.

re: New player advice poker I would say to start at the 1.00 + 0.20 9 person tourneys before i tryed anything else you kind of want to go in stride like 9 a few times then 18 a few times then 2 then 45 assuming you stay ahead when you loose a few in a row i would suggest dropping back down

less variance, i think that you can more consistently win smaller SnG's and finish in the money than larger ones, i.e. better for establishing a bank roll: 9 man: 3 places paid 18 man: 4 places paid (1 more place paid for double the field) 27 man: 5 places paid etc... I really think that this is best for building up your BR, when you have a solid BR and want to go for some bigger money, then the bigger tourney's could be appropriate.

i stopped the double or nothings and dknight10 has been helping me out, its a beautiful thing i've placed in every 9 man sit n' go that ive entered so far 5-Dec-08 18:29 NL Holdem 3/9 $0.60 5-Dec-08 17:01 NL Holdem 2/9 $1.50 5-Dec-08 14:56 NL Holdem 1/9 $3.30 5-Dec-08 13:53 NL Holdem 2/9 $1.50 6-Dec-08 14:58 NL Holdem 2/9 $1.50 cant see the rest unless i pay for shark scope and for some reason pokertracker isn't counting any of these as wins its just going straight down
