| my Bankroll doesn't go up nor down. Is it normal? Hello guys! My bank roll at the moment is very low. US$33 I have kept that bankroll since about 3 weeks ago. Somedays I lose 4$, somedays I win 4$. the point is that my bankrall almost doesn't move up. Is this normal? Am I playing bad? I am playing mainly 1c/2c NL and 3c/6Limit cash games and 1$ Sngs here and there. I play about 12 hours per week I have noticed my strategy is getting better, because before I used to lose way more than I won. Now I am almost 50%/50% Maybe some of you will say "keep playing and keep getting better" but i want to know if for others experiences players this is normal (i am a newbie) Cheers! |

| Congrats on the win. Breaking even for short periods of time, and in poker 3 weeks is very short for most, is very common. I've heard of some of the guys on here running thousands of hands for just break even. One thing I would recommend is picking one type of game that you like the most to play, either limit, NL, cash games, etc, and just stick with it. Spreading your learning time over all those different games will slow you down. |

| If you are 50-50 - obvious you dont loose nor win....! if you want to build a decent bankroll - when you double up in your cash games - leave and open a different table with the difference. In a couple of days you'll see your bankroll! |

This. Pick the one game that suits you the best and stick with it. You may not realize it but you could be up on one type of game (MTT, FR, 6-max, SNG, etc) but bleeding chips in another game. Best of luck |

| re: my Bankroll doesn't go up nor down. Is it normal? poker It just means that right now you either are a break even player, or the sample size is not high enough to determine whether or not you are going to make or lose money in the long run. My piece of advice would be for you to play some low stakes SNGs according to the basic strategy at sitandgoplanet.com, because the level of play there is just beyond low. Best of luck to you. |

Roughly 2/3 of players are losing players. Really, my best advice is to concentrate on one game. Watch some of the CardsChat videos and read the micro-limit questions in the hand analysis sections. You can often pick up little things that make a big difference in your game. I know when I was at $2NL I'd bet too small and play too tight. It'd win a little off the really loose terrible people. But I watched a video where I picked up that I could get away with bigger bets and observed the types of people who were making money (people who I thought were too loose for the game) and so when I made those two changes in my game it really took off. I specifically remember seeing a video where a villain made a small bet, and the hero explained that it meant he had something like second pair or a draw so he would re-raise with any two cards there, and did, and took the pot when the other guy folded. Things like that fill the leaks in your game. |

If it's the first thing, showdowns (which I know Pokerstars will show you in your stats per session), then going much higher is not optimal. In the long run it should stay near 50% or else you're getting bluffed out when you have the best hand. When you do get to showdown, the wins should be for more money than your losses. But, if it has been significantly lower than 50%, you're likely calling rivers when you're beat. And, as has been said above, it's still a relatively short time frame, plus when you're starting out it's better to find one type of game and focus on it to build a "base" game for yourself. |

| re: my Bankroll doesn't go up nor down. Is it normal? poker Breaking even is fine. You are getting FTP's and rakeback, so its cool. Also losing a bit of your roll is fine, just as long as you aren't tilting it away or doing something you shouldn't. |
