Multiway pots changing hand strengths I thought hands like 89s played well multiway because you have a small chance of making a monster or u can get away from it easy. I was reading that scs like KQs vs A10o vs 44s will all be near flipping. Can someone elaborate on how this works?

Actually KQ is a favourite! Another one: AA vs KK vs QQ vs JJ vs 56s. Aces are the favourite but 56s is 22% favourite over JJ-KK which are 11-15% to win. Does that mean if four players are all in likely with big pairs it would be +EV to call lol? Last edited by watchtowel : 2nd August 2011 at 12:09 AM.

You bring up a good point in your original post about being able to get away if you don't hit your suited connectors. It is all relative to stack size and bet size. If you are playing a multi-way pot on the cash table and you can get in relatively cheap, then your suited connectors are a masked hand. Sometimes people speak of how good those hands are because of the payoff factor. They are often hard to trace if you play them correctly. The battle of concealing the truth from your opponent.
