Multi-tabling tactics I have only been multi-tabling for a little while now, and I am currently crushing the .05/.10 cash games at FT, 8 tables at a time. When I play I cannot keep up with every player individual, so I make my plays very basic, playing according to position, relative hand strength, and bet sizes. When you guys multi-table 8 and up tables, do you actually have time to keep up with every player, or do you basically just make automated decisions the way that I do. I am doing very well at my current stakes, but i would imagine that when I move up I will be forced to play less tables. Thanks!

A tip that I can provide is to keep an eye out for the players who are multi-tabling with you. Often it is much easier to steal from and bluff these players. It is difficult to track many players when multi-tabling, although you should be able to pick up out the nits and the maniacs. It will become easier with experience too. Good luck!

I do not understand the reasoning behind multi-tabling so many tables. I thought the main reason for playing was to be able to learn from playing and developing a skill about reading other players. If all you are doing is relaying on software and playing basic poker strategy are you improving your overall skill set. Do you feel that by playing so many tables you are gaining that sixth sense at a faster rate? I would like to hear some thoughts on that. I my self will only play 4 max. This way I can keep all tables up and this I can see the action on the tables.

Of course, that applies to the lower limits where a basic, straightforward strategy can be a winning one. |

I have the same problem with tiling. My HUD is too small to provide any useful info. I have tried cascading in the past and it drives me a little crazy. I have never given it very much time. So my questions here are; Is cascading something that requires getting used to? and; If yes, how long (estimation in hours/days/weeks/w.e.) did it take you to get used to it?

Remember that HUD data can be changed of size. HUD options--> players preferences --> appearance, you can chose type of letter and size there. i use size=10, (i think default is 8), Arial black, tile, 4 tables, for 6 or more try size=11 or 12, type of letter make a difference in how it see, also try colors in letters that are easy to see (in contrast with color in table). Cascading also get me crazy, and is easy to see what is going on tile, but for more than 6 probably will be harder unless get a bigger monitor.
