Multi tabling Originally I posted this in response to someone under the Bad Beat threads but I apreciate that's the wrong forum so I've reposted it here: This does raise an interesting point about multi tabling. I'd like to, particularly on cash games, but find that my laptop is too small to be able to tile the screens effectively and moreover when using HEM which even when using a minimal HUD creates a very confusing screen. Some people will see buy a bigger screen but that not quite possible just now and I like to play on the laptop for the portable comfort. How have others out there coped with this?

I play on my laptop and used to tile the windows, but could only get 9 tables going effectively. I now cascade the windows, and can play 15 comfortably on a 15" monitor. So like the previous poster said, try cascading the windows.

re: Multi tabling poker I go tile with some overlap of each table. With four on a screen (meaning eight as I have an old CRT plugged into the laptop and run it as an extended desktop; this might work for you too) it's fine. If I run six on each screen then mostly only my own cards show in the middle tables so it requires some clicking back and forth to check on the activity.

In the long run I would like to tile my tables on a few 24" screens. Alas that wont happen till I start winning some decent $$$ Atm however my 13" laptop screen doesnt even fit 4 screens tiled nicely with hud, so im resorting to cascading 6-8 tables. Its not the best workspace for me, and it gets very hectic (partly because im still learning the game in general) but it gets me by. I really need a hotkey application, but there arent many options out there for macs...So im resorting to pulling out tables with action to the side when need be then clicking the cascade button repeatedly to get the stack back in shape.

My monitor's probably big enough that I could tile but tiny graphics annoy me so I just cascade / overlap. Give it a bash, especially if you've got a HUD keeping track of the action for you and you don't need to physically see every single hand.

I should advice that if your not getting a big screen (as you said wasnt an option) you should just play as many tables that you are comfortable with on the small laptop screen.I have many friends that try to play so many tables at once on a smalls creen that it actually affects their game in a negative way.Sure its people that really quick and see things clearly on a messy screen but me for one cant play more then like 4 tables at once on my laptop. When i play more i get both stressed and irritated on the small table windows. So my advice would be that play as many tables that you can with the software you choose and as many tables as you feel comfortable playing. Good luck!
