Is moving to different table in live casino not tolerated? Two days ago, I visited casino and played 5/10. I started with 30 blinds and got upto 50. But when dealer changed, I decided to move to a different table. Dealer told me that I can't move. I told her that I'm moving because I don't like her. Reason for this was because last few of my horrible bad beats that I remember, she was my dealer. I just couldn't stand this dealer. I couldn't stand it to the point where I would probably fold pocket Aces pre-flop since I know she's gonna flop bullshit for random donks or give miracle turn/river cards for other people. I talked to the floorperson. He said it's not tolerated but he still granted my request and moved me. I told him the reason why I wanted to move and he told me that it's part of casino policy. He told me unless I'm moving to a higher or lower stake, I'm not allowed to move to different same stake table with the chipstack I have on current table. I told him that I'm moving because I hate this dealer. I usually stay in one table and play for a long time but two nights ago, watching her dealing me cards made me want to fold every hand or every nuts. I even folded pocket 2s from a button in an unraised pot. I would probably even fold flopped nuts because she f--ked me over so many times in the past. If I flop nuts, my opponents will get runner-runner miracle cards to get superior hand. I mentioned about my bad beat on this forum long time ago where I had pocket 6s and my opponent had AcKs and flop was 6c7cKd. My opponent who had TPTK gets his running flush. Another bad beat I can remember where she was my dealer was the time when I flopped a straight and my opponent with TPTK gets running flush. I had 8c10c and flop came out all rainbow 79J. My opponent who had JK diamonds called my all-in bet and hit his running flush. When I recall my bad beats, she was my dealer. Anyone know a reason why you're not allowed to move to different table in casino? Online, you can move to different table or do whatever you want. But in casino, they have policies where they won't let you move to different table with current chipstack u have in current table. I think it's very ridiculous. It's not like I had monster stack and decided to join a table full of short-stack to grind up/bully their chips because the different table I moved to had people who had nearly amount or more chips than me. I ended up coming out even with 50 dollar profit(5 blind profit) because I was card dead towards late night and decided to come out while I still have my money. But I'm surprised why casinos won't let you move to different same-stake table when I barely have over two times the minimum buy-in during that time.

OK firstly, no matter what you think, the dealer is not controlling the cards you get. Secondly, you can move so long as it is within the casino's policy. Look at it from their point of view. A casino makes its money from raking the pot. Therefore the casino's profit is directly proportional to the number of hands dealt. Some people (for some illogical reason) think that dealers are in some way lucky or unlucky. If every time there is a dealer change, half the players decide to play musical chairs then the casino makes less money... and they are a business!! Therefore, in the interest of keeping the games going, casinos may decide to place restrictions on players moving from table to table.

Yeah, but perception is reality. If the guy thinks the dealer is unlucky for him, and it effects his play, that's his reality. If they don't want to let him move, he can vote with his feet. Or sit out until the dealers change again. Either way, that hurts the rake and influences the casino to let him have his way.

There are a couple of players I refuse to be at the same table because they piss me off so much I go on tilt. I could see being this way with a dealer as well. At my casino you can move at any time but you can only bring the table maximum, not your whole stack. It's the same way online - if you join a new table you are limited to the table maximum. It's strange that she implied you couldn't move at all - maybe you misunderstood? There are arguments for and against this rule. In the end it's whatever the casino decides.

I can understand why they do not want people moving about all the time. As for the dealer she is not able to control the cards. However if she makes you feel uncomfortable it can affect your game and if your mind is thinking she is a problem then you should take a rest. I am pretty sure if you go for a drink for a while and come back they would not have aproblem with you joining another table.

What ever their policy... you should be able to play /move to what ever table you like. Just take you chips and get up and move. Next thing you know they wont let you leave the table untill you loose all your chips... after all if this was their "policy" they would make more money

THey're probably arguing with one another before shift about who's going to get stuck with you on their table. Why am I responding to this post? Hmm... not too sure. I don't know the answer to your question but do know there's lots of help out there for the first portion of your post (not sure you'll find it in a poker forum though).

re: Is moving to different table in live casino not tolerated? poker From skimming through the responses it seems the consensus is that a) dealer doesn't control cards you get (which i personally don't agree with... little superstitious but it revolves around the idea of coolers etc. ) b) it depends on Casino policy. In Montreal at least (who only recently switched from electronic card tables to ones with dealers) there is generally a waiting list for each limits and if u vacate (with your chips) your table then you have to start over again. my two cents.

Do this..... 1) Go burn one ..... 2) Grab a bite to eat ...... 3) Take a dump...... 4) Burn one more ..... By then the mean nasty bad beat dealing dealer will have moved on, you will be refreshed and ready to kick azz. But seriously the dealer does not control the cards. You need to work through this. What if you are at a final table of a big tourney and your "favorite dealer" shows up ....... You gonna run?????? I think not. Just practice a little pot control while she is at your table and you'll be on your way to getting this out of your head.

Quite the contrary, you do have the option to leave the table if it is the "main game". If there's a waiting table/game, you may proceed and ask the floor manager to exchange seats with the first player on the top of the waiting game. Majority of the time if the player agrees, the floor manager won't hesitate to make the swap. Bare in mind, refrain from the use of vulgarity and adamant tone while negotiating this deal.

Most casinos rotate their dealers through all or most of the games they spread. So even changing tables is only a quick fix. If you can't get over your obsession with this dealer, maybe take up craps instead. Then the only person in charge of the RNG is you

At commerce casino the largest card room in the world, the rules are as follows, u are allowed so sit out for 45 minutes, dealers session. You can table change at anytime, unless there are empty seats at other tables in that same limit. So if ur leaving a table with a couple seats empty for a full one that is not allowed. If there is a waiting list for your limit u can change at any time and no one will say anything to you. And oh by the way the dealers are great people just get to know her and ur luck when she is dealing will change.

re: Is moving to different table in live casino not tolerated? poker I have never experienced this. If I want to move I just ask the floor for a table change and as soon as a seat opens on another table for the same stakes I get to take it. The only exception is when they have a stake set up with a main table and must move tables. Then they move you when it is your turn to move and your only choices are to stop playing or move. 5/10 isn't a limit that usually warrents must move in my experience. If you were as "honest" with the dealer about your motives as you were with us, then I can see the floor backing the dealer even if that isn't the policy. The last rule on almost every casinos list is, "All decisions by the floor are final." So they can pretty much do what they want, but generally act fairly unless someone p***es in their cheerios.

Although I will admit I have been too active in recent years at live play, but back in the good 'ol days, I never had any trouble changing tables. Sometimes I had to wait because there was a line, but generally speaking if there was a seat open I was never turned down. The OP seems to be having some issues in the last several months in casinos. Didn't the OP getting into several verbal confrontations in one day? One combatant being a senior citizen? Now trouble with changing tables and blaming a dealer for his bad beats. For some reason he doesn't come off as being a pleasant person at the tables. Sometimes those negative vibes come back to bite back at you. Not trying to pick a fight or play Dr. Phil......just an observation.

I realize that hating a dealer is MY problem. So there were three options for me. Option 1 is to tell the dealer to go away. Option 2 is to simply play in the table. Option 3 is to simply leave and go to different table. I decided to choose option 3. I felt that Option 3 was an ideal option because if I have trouble with the dealer, I should leave and avoid her since that's my problem. But what does she do? She tries to prevent me from moving to a different table. I don't get the purpose of why people can't just move to different same-stake table when they don't even have more than maximum buy-in. Dealers are great people but she was an exception. When I faced bad beats, there are dealers who can treat every players for them to stay at the table and enjoy poker while there are dealers who pisses people off. There are dealers who treat me very well and are still sociable where I can digest bad beats easily and stay in the table longer and re-buy, even tip them more once I win my money back or win in general, and there are dealers who dont' know how to treat the players. I remember her criticizing my play, asking me why I called a pre-flop raise with 8Tc when I flopped a straight and lost to running flush. It's enough for me to digest a bad beat, I don't need someone telling me how to play poker or criticize me.

the casino across the street from my home, that is not possible...if you left a table, you would be waiting an hour or 2 of a seat unless you are willing to play limit, most casinos change dealers every 20/30 minutes anyway, so dont base your move on a certain dealer, you will likely see her again shortly anyway. gl to you wooter

seems an easy solution would be just get and take a walk for 15-20 while she is dealing. if she is tapping a dealer out, most likely she is just running breaks and its not her main table. i really dont get too worried about what dealer i have in poker though...blackjack however is another matter.
