the mother of god question

ok. i'm still learning about poker, but...how the hell do you keep your woman/man from nagging the crap out of you while you people are playing? i mean i tried the dirty sock in the mouth but that only work for a couple of mins until she got it out of it. then i tried the 36 bucket of chicken from KFC but that only lasted for about 5 mins, until it was gone. (that was like the scene from gremlins). not saying i'm all skinny or anything but when we took our honeymoon i had to fly coach while she had to go cargo. I would say hey at least i'm making some money for the house, but i doubt that would go over well seeing that she's some sort of heiress to some pork belly company (go figure). i mean everytime i get on to play she starts complaining about spending "quality" time, and then i get pissed off and play stupid.

any suggestions?

Like everything else in life just get the balance right. You get time to play poker she / he gets time to do their own thing. Give and take always works.

It doesn't? Even if he offers to go Dutch? You could try Applebee`s. You get a good family meal for a fair price. Or the always delicious Taco Bell.

Lol dude you either like your girl or you don't. If you like her then make sure you spend time with her. After the quality time let her know that you need some time to yourself to play poker. If she just pisses you off and nags you all the time, well then I don't see a point of being with her?

Something to note - I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that about 90% of women will complain if you play poker too much....even if you're winning. Anything that takes the attention off of them seems to piss them off.

I think Wes747 is right, I don't understand the post, if you are with her, then be with her, if you would rather be playing poker, then have the decency to dump her, so she can also find a person of quality to be with. no worries, no problem,.. I think you are complaining too much,..

I had a similar problem, my solution was to purchase a lap top and lock myslef in the bathroom, with my mini fridge of course

If you are serious about poker, divorce is the simple solution, if your not serious then keep her happy, your gonna need the bankroll help.

i do spend time with her i only play poker about 3 hours a day, and after work i spend most of the time wit her. i'm just venting because she seemed to be pissy all the time. it's just she so used to having all the attention on her that she doesn't understand people need time to themselves. ok. thanks for the advice.

Get divorced, thats the solution to your problems. However, if you'r not spending quality time with her, you should be. Its very important for a couple to have their separate time to stay close to each other. About the poker, well convince her its something you enjoy doing as a man, and you feel that it helps you stay sharp for your current business, and that she should be proud that she has a husband who would take the time to win some extra money to buy her the prada she so dearly needs.

Why not teach her poker? My wife and I love to play. We have parties with games with friends and both play online (she only playmoney) we like to talk about good hands and wallow in our grief over suckouts or bad play together, we watch HSP and PAD together and have been known to challenge the other to a few hands where clothes are the bounty.

find her a hobby or something that she can do while you get your poker time in.

when i first started playing my girlfriend hated it and felt attention deprived when i played, but i had her start playing with me with play money on bodog annnd what do you know it.... she now plays poker!...shes pretty good now too.

annyways i understand what you are saying, it can screw up your playing if you have to fight with her just to be able to play.
