Middle to Late Mtt's I always read that at this time in tournaments we have to steal, steal, steal, and re steal. Unless I am truly unlucky in tournaments I always have at the least two mad limpers at my tables. Most times they will call raises once they have limped. I try and wait for more playable hands but find myself always severely blinding away near the bubble. Any suggestions on how to keep from blinding away when faced with high blind limpers?

If you are short stacked near the bubble, try to remember that you only have one move. All in. If you are putting in standard 3x raises, and you have only 12-15 times the BB, then people suspect that by calling your small raise, you might be pot-committed, and with a favorable flop, they might win 4 to 5 times what they had to put in to see the flop. This makes almost any hand playable to a big stack. I'm a big fan of playing aggressive late if you have some fold-equity, but if you are closer to bubbling out, you might want to tighten up and play only the very best hands for very big pots, and then get into the money before going into desperation mode.

re: Middle to Late Mtt's poker Your chip stack will determine the optimal mid stage strategy. As has been discussed, if you are SS and a standard raise represents 25% of your stack or more, it is best to just shove. If you are BS, then you have the ability to be more active in stealing pots. You will want to be cautious of becoming pot committed against a bigger stack at all times.

That is where my problem is. I enter the mid stages just above mid pack, but with all the limping going on I am not getting many opportunities to maintain my stack. Then I end up in push/fold near the bubble which usually costs me the tournament.
