Matrix I was just wondering if you guys like the idea of matrix, I find it kind of good in away but also stupid since even when you win sometimes as in finish in the money you still didnt even make the buy-in amount back

I love playing matrix's for many reasons. First off it reduces variance w/o increasing downsizing. You don't find yourself losing as many beats. You also are able to get 4x the read on your opponent, which allows you to quickly find out how the other 8 players play poker. Most Importantly, I feel like it allows you to play more aggressive than you normally would if you were 4 tabling sng's. If you play too aggressive 4 tabling sng's and you get knocked out of one then you've lost a buy in. With matrix you can lose out of a table and still easily make you money back, and usually still make a substantial profit. (I finished 9th on one table, 3rd one one and two 1st places. and took 1st overall.)

I think they're terrible, and for the most part they'll just send you slowly broke to the rake because most people end up making either slightly more or much less than what they bought in for. If you win all four tables you get what - the same prize as if you'd won one regular SnG of the same price? So even if you're a multi-table junkie, why wouldn't you just play four regular SnGs?!?

re: Matrix poker Actually that's not true, if you win all four tables you sweep the entire prize pool. So for instance if you buy in for $10 + 1 regular 9 man matrix and win all four tables you get $90. Personally I like them because the variance is smaller and for all of them I've played I'm up significantly more than I put in.
