Math in Texas Hold 'Em Where can I learn how to base my game off of math? Are there any players here who can help me and direct me to websites that can help me out here? I really want to learn the math of poker and apply it to my game. I tried some searches on Google but really couldn't find anything that was too helpful. Thanks to anyone who helps out.

re: Math in Texas Hold 'Em poker Can you give me some examples, Patty? And... I guess if you had to boil it down to a specific question... what goes through a players mind througout the course of a hand in terms of math and determining his odds and whatnot? Preflop, Flop, Turn, and River, I'd like to know how a math based player would approach a hand.

the math of poker can not really be generalized in my opinion! its a variation of diffrent components, I'm stilll learning all the aspects of the poker math myself! i will look into finding more solid info for you and i will post it here, I don't have my reference material handy on my comp at the moment! But i'm sure everyone here will help you out as best they can. There is alot of good players here at CC to help you along your way. Good luck on the felt and feel free to PM me anytime! i'll do my best to pass on what i have learned!

thanks for the book... ill see if i can download it online for free, if not ill have to buy it at the store. jackace thanks for the site, ill be sure to pm you soon. i learned pot odds today... i believe i have it correct, if not let me know... is it... pot size : price to call = pot odds outs : total cards = card odds if pot odds > card odds, then calling is profitable if pot odds < card odds, then folding is profitable
