Live cards??

This hand took place in a PS $4 sng earlier today... when i typed stupid or brave in the chat box the winner typed 'Live Cards'... can someone explain what this means.

Since opponent had AQ any other card is considered a live card, meaning if one of his cards hit (the 8 or 9) that they will not hit opponents hand too. Usually, I've found when said, it's used as an excuse to make a stupid call...I'm sure i've said it once or twice...lol

Some players are comfortable with taking their shot at a small disadvantage. If they run into a pair higher than both their cards they are a 4:1 dog and that is just bad luck in their opinion. But its almost 50/50 against a smaller pair and not much worse than 60/40 against 2 overs. it still isnt a smart move but these players feel like they have a fighting chance with live cards. Horse and dog tracks make good money becuase of this logic.

It just means your opponent doesn't have cards that match yours.

^^^ this. In most cases that I've ever seen it was simply a defense of a stupid call (similar to that of "but they were soooooted").

Live cards means, in a nutshell, they have different cards to you. Giving an example. You have AJ and they have A4. They are not live but in that case they are dominated. Live cards is something like AK vs 67. The problem is that the hand that seems stronger is suddenly docked in odds to win. Final table strategy is normally based around live cards

If I see one more player make stupid call with rags just because they were SOOOTTTEEDD, I declare right now that I will MURDER them through their computer screen. LOL
