KK against J8 I find that when I'm dealt pocket K's and I raised it 4-5 times the big blind that I would get somebody that would go all in with a J8 and end up losing against a flush or straight draw. Is it a donkey call with the J8 or is J8 favourable against pocket K's?

You want people to call you with that trash all day long. Yeah it'll hit sometimes, but no, no, no it isn't a favorite. I know it's frustrating to get your best hand cracked by junk, but you can't let it get into your head an alter the way you play. Bad beats are part of poker, but in the long run, you're going to kill the players who think it's a good idea to call an all-in with crap like J,8. |

I have said this before but its worth saying again. You only saw this guy hit, you didnt see the other 385 tournaments he busted out of playing J 8. If I have position and odds I like to see a flop with J 8 suited, but its not an all in hand.

I just started reading 'The Poker Mindset'. A quote: "If you make the correct decision, then the actual result of the hand is irrelevant. Inevitably, there will be times when you lose money as a result of making the right play, while inevitably other players may win money by making the wrong play. All you can do is console yourself with the knowledge that over time these players will lose their money, and if you keep playing well, you will be in the best position to win it. Don't worry about winning money; worry about making the correct decisions, and let the money take care of itself". I literally just read this, and I thought right away that every post in the Bad Beat forum should automatically have this quote as the only response. Play good poker and make the right decisions. That's all you can do, and it will most likely be enough to make money at the poker table. I think .......

very nice quote, I really admire who can just ignore a bad beat that the just got with 72o for example, even that I know that I made the right decision and everything, it just drives me crazy =( I alredy know all the theory, but in the pratice it's pretty hard to apply it

KK against J8 -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ KK MET great advantage over J8 but much benefit even if they are J8 to suit different, I would not pay J8 to see even a suit so would a game if it were big blind times the small blind, and another positions not go to the game.
