| re: KJ off poker The only way I'd ever consider playing that hand is if it's a supertight table where the BB has made around quite a bit, or you feel confident enough that you can raise it and not get reraised. However, if you do raise, you need to be prepared to fold to a sizeable raise knowing your way behind. |

UTG: ![]() ![]() cutoff/button: ![]() ![]() cuttoff / button will 3bet his whole cards most of the time - do you want to reraise UTG ? Probable not, you call. FLOP: ![]() ![]() are you comfortable ?![]() ![]() two pair, but button flopped nutsstraigt, has flushdraw![]() ![]() a lot of outs for button (any A,Q,10 -runner clubs)![]() ![]() gonna raise this ?![]() ![]() raise this ?![]() ![]() sure of winning with your J kicker.....?and so on.... ....and the biggest problem is that cutoff/button can always react. If you want to play this hand then only in late position. |

| KJ is pretty much never strong enough UTG. The few exceptions I can think of would be: 1) I'm stacked in a tournament. If my M is ~5, I'm shoving K/Jo. 2) I'm at the final table of a tournament, and there are only 4 or so villains remaining. 3) I'm playing a 6-max ring, with smart players, and I've folded the last dozen or so hands in a row. (I consider it a steal with outs and I'm not playing for big pots unless I get at least two pair). Basically, K/J is trouble because hands that call you often have you slightly out kicked. |

| re: KJ off poker this is the kind of hand you really want opponents to be calling with, i don't like alot of the high cards unsuited at all, but if you have position you can try stealing with it (tourney play). otherwise muck it as quickly at possible, or slowly if you really want to tilt a table, slowplay 2-3 hands that will gettem riled up in a hurry. |
