Is it justified to limp when others players limp with a hand like 8q off?

Let's say I'm playing a tourney with 20 big blinds and one guy limped so i am getting 2.5/1 on a call with 4 players left to act, should i limp behind ?

Snapfold. You simply won't hit often enough, and even when you do hit, you don't have enough in your stack to get paid enough to make it worthwhile.

You either shove hoping no one will call or just simply fold.

Most important response so far. As it prompts Izaak to think about why he is wrong. I suggeste you (Izaak) explain why you would limp behind here, and try to see if you get why you simply should fold this here.

Why would you want to?

The problem with this question like many others of its kind is that the situation is too general. Okay I agree with four players behind as a standard play it is a resounding NO. But I would prefer to see a little more information - is in a cash game or a tourney, what is the profile on the initial person in the pot, what are the four players behind you like, what are their relative stacks, etc. If you call, you are providing every player behind you with delicious pot odds to call and hit lucky, if you raise - depending on the type of players behind you the callers/re-raisers will usually have better hands than your and off course the original player into the pot may have a hand. So it doesn't look good. But say you are in a tourney close to the bubble, - the first person limps in , you are getting short stacked but have enough to damage any callers - a shove might be in order. But say you are the big stack - no danger of going out, and have four tight players behind you, you may decide to call, take a flop and if you hit, play it to showdown so you show everyone you are playing "loose" when actually you are just playing the players.

U have 2 limp. If u dont the flop will always be QQ8 or better.

q8 os is terrible, particularly in multiway pots.

either raise or fold. Fold most of the time unless you're on button or at least CO. And if you get called, you probably just gave away a few chips for free.

Terrible idea to limp w Q8o in Co -1, either raise or fold, and raise has to be all in with only 20 BB left, pray for folds all around. It must be tourney, why would you even think of calling with this in cash game?
