Don't be doin stupid stuff like killing yourself. Really hard to recover from that. I think your 'trick' is counterproductive and will lead you to play scared, which almost everyone will agree is a recipe for disaster. Stop playing real money games until you can prove to yourself you have a clue. As distasteful as it may be to you, play money games can be useful. Freerolls, especially the private freerolls with smaller fields can help a lot. I for one have had a real money account on many sites for a few years now and still play play money games. I aimed at, and got to 1/2 million play money chips at FullTilt before I ever deposited any real money. At the highest play money buy-ins the game is very good, and very competitive (contrary to what many will advise, I stand by that statement). You need to read every article CardsChats offers, even about the games you seem uninterested in. Even about things like bankroll management. Browse the threads regularly, ask questions, post hands for comment and scrutiny. Open yourself up to the fact that you might really not have a clue and we will clue you in to your inner force.

You should probably freeroll a while until you get that up to $20 or so, then make sure you apply a good BRM strategy. To go from $15 to $3.20 means you had to have.... a) had a massive 1-in-a-million downswing b) given up on BRM c) not been a very good poker player Option c) is probably not the case. But if you truly lost 80% of your bankroll playing micros while following a good BRM plan, then consider the possibility.

The money have just... gone away little by little! Maybe one round i realized this doesn't go anywhere.. and i left.. and maybe lost 0,20 $... Maybe played 40 hands... I can play only good cards... and still have the amount of money i came in with! But! I can't make more! The best I can do in poker is... to not loose the money at least! I can get sloopy/stupid and maybe get a king and queen in different color, and i raise maybe a little! The flop comes... NADA! And... someone raises.. i fold usually how i loose the money!

Read a few poker books, post some hand histories where you've lost and cant quite see where you went wrong, ask specific questions about specific holes in your game. You shouldn't really need to ask questions like 'which hands should I play'. Learning poker is trial and error. The micro stakes are there so you dont need to go broke while you pick up the basics. There is no player alive who begun their career as a winning player, everyone started out where you are now (maybe a few were a little ahead...) Be patient and at least attempt to help yourself. There is no quick fix for winning at poker.

maybe you should try to play with fake money so you can learn what to do in certain situation what cards are most effective when playing cash games, tournaments, sit and gos poker is all about experience so just keep playing games you dont need to play with real money but just play in freeroll tournaments and just build up your experience there is no telling what cards you "should" play but AA KK QQ JJ 10 AK AQ AJ A10 are all cards you want to raise the the blinds with. You should call or if you are in position raise with cards like 99 88 77 66 KQ KJ K10 QJ Q10 J10. You might want to call with just 55 44 33 22 and low connectors like 10 9 etc. Also you might want to try playing suited connectors although they are weak at the beginning of the board they can be monsterous hands at the end. with suited connectors you are looking to hit a straight or flush. So I suggest you just play some freeroll tournaments that are completely free thus the name freeroll tournaments to help you learn how to play poker better. I hope this post helps you. Also you need to learn how to read your opponents by how he has been playing the entire time is he agressive is he tight etc. This way you'll be able to tell whether he is bluffing or he has a strong hand. Another way to read your opponent is to watch his raising and calling and checking tendencies this way you can see how he plays etc.

Read Doyle Brunson's book Super System. Its not just about playing good cards, its about position, table image, and seeing and studying what the players at the table do too. Micro games are not as easy as everyone thinks. Most of the time the players are newish or complete beginners...and they can make some outrageous bets, turning your pckt A's into trash. Learn about value betting, so you are maximizing on your good hands. Play all the freerolls you can, and play different games. Limit games are better to learn as the variations are more controlled. NLHE and NLOmaha can be dangerous with newer players or if your a newer player. You can lose yourself and your entire bank roll in one hand, but in limit....its controlled (not to be confused with Pot Limit) Remember...online is way different in many ways from sitting at a table. Most of all, remember this is a game of skill, luck and streaks...both good and bad. And the bad can last for years...(ok it seems like years )sometimes.) Learning as much as you can can help shorten the bad streaks, but you'll always have to deal with the suckout quads or the donk hitting the nut flush.

yea i think a lot of it is playing small tourneys and don't spend to much at a time i like to play super tight at the start on cheap tourneys then get aggressive near the end because at really low $1 games their is usually a lot of idiots blowing off steam at the start and they usually get knocked out later then the blinds increase and the hands r worth a lot more

I don't know if there's a specific amount of play money that you should have. In PS people don't really start to play for real until the 2k/10k+ SNGs. Any lower and it's a donkfest. Also, even in the 100/200 play money cash games you still have 2-3 people going all in with nothing. So, I generally like to avoid playing cash games with play money on PS. Also, I don't know if you've seen Chris Ferguson's Bankroll Management rules. But, here they are: "For cash games, Rule number 1: Never buy into a game for more than 5% of your bankroll. Rule number 2: If you have more than 10% of your bankroll on the table at one time, you need to quit that game. The second category is multi-table Sit 'n Go's and multi-table tournaments. For one table Sit 'n Go's the rule is very simple. Never buy in to a one table Sit 'n Go for more than 5% of your bankroll. For multi-table Sit ;n Go's and multi-table tournaments the rule is 2% of your bankroll. Never buy in to a multi-table tournament or Sit 'n Go for more than 2% of your bankroll." Or, if your bankroll is very small he has separate rules. "I did allow myself, using these bankroll management strategies, for this $0 to $10,000 challenge. I always allowed myself to buy in to any cash game for $2.50 or less and any tournament for $1, and I followed those rules exactly."

Play money is free - so you needn't play scared. You probably won't be a consistently winning real money player within a week or two so save the 3.20 $. Read and post here and play freerolls as much as possible. Take them seriously but be prepared to get sucked out on often - keep in mind that the ability of your most of your opponents isn't any good. Try to leave half of the field behind at first - try to beat your last finish every time from there on. Do not burn the 3.20 $ - you're bankrolled for no game at all and it would get you even more frustrated. If you become eglible to play the cc freerolls by all means play there, too. There you'll have the chance to play against hardened players and learn (and eventually cash too). Set a goal to win at least 11.70 in freerolls until you have 15$ in your BR again. (no real money non freerolls before !) After achieving that I'd go with the 0.30$ sat to the daily dollar at FT(unregister for tourney dollars if you win) or the lowest possible game on the site you're at. Don't be frustrated - not many players are actually profitable - and it's a long way for them usually, too. Another last point: Most players go through downswings and 40 buy-ins isn't unusual either Read the tips mentioned in the other posts of this thread, too. Good luck on your marathon. |

Getting killed is a good motivation, in not sure what your playing, tournaments or cash games, but you shouldn't be looking for exact cards to play, obv AA KK QQ are great but they still loose and you will just get frustrated waiting for them, so the best advice i could give is don't play scared , take some risk don't worry too much about going broke (it will just make you play scared and passive), play aggressive, and freeroll your way to a better bankroll.

I recommend reviewing some cardschat articles, specifically http://www.cardschat.com/freeroll-to...t-strategy.php . They are very helpful. Then, I recommend looking up "The official KC strategy" on these forums. After you've done both of those things, I recommend that you go to Fulltilt and play in their 7500 person freerolls. Once you've entered enough of those and you find that you're consistently having deep runs, placing 200 or better, I'd recommend that you enter $0.25 SNG's at pokerstars and play "premium hands" with a "Tight Aggressive" style

LoL that remaining 3.2$ isn't gonna be any help you can't really play any cash games because you won't be handle the swings of bad beats. you could either play tourneys with a buyin of under a dollar and for the best or just desposit a sufficient amount like around 100$ and then start off your proper bankroll from there.
