HUD stats,
Okay currently using HEM and trying to understand to concepts of all the stats.
Mainly using the vpip, prfraise,ag factor .. okay so I mainly play micro limits and see lots of 35/6/0 ....and usually when I see that im thinking fish..so okay he probably gets involved in many hands (im guessing hand ranges from j-8 a-8 type of hands) and hardly raises..but since his preflp raise % is so low does that mean when he actually does raise we know he has a monster hand? monster hands ranging from AK-QQ-KK-AA ? |

No it doesn't mean he has a monster - but a solid enough hand. 6% is relatively low. However, a 6% range would be something like AA-88, AK, AQ, KQ etc. Remember a pp is 0.5% and a unpaired hand is about 1.2%. So if he raises your going to need a strong hand to continue. Probably JJ+ and AK would give u an edge vs his starting range. But JJ would be marginal around 50/50 etc. I'd certainly fold AQ vs a 6% range unless u feel u can outplay him postflop.
You could call with any PP hands if he is deep stacked and pushes all in light. I hope this helps. |

d/l pokerstove to find the 6% of hands. BTW 6 % on stove is 88+,ATs+,KQS,AK
PFR also averages the positional raise %. So obv if your raising from UTG then your PFR for that position is likely to be somewhat less than 6% and as you get to the button it's probably a bit more than 6%, if you see what I mean. |

Thanks jagsti...I downloaded pokerstove but was confusing to work it...
Also if your still reading this i wanted to ask about agression factor ..say something like 20/15/3 and 40/22/1 ...what is the difference between 3 and 1 for aggression factor? I know the 3 means more aggressive but does that also mean they bluff alot more as well? just dont completly understand... Thanks |

Well inference can be drawn from the fact that the higher your AF the more likely you are to bluff. But that's not to say someone with an AF of 0.5, doesn't bluff.
Basically afaik, AF if the ratio of you betting/raising to you calling. So if you have an AF of +5 then you very rarely call, whereas someone with an AF of 1 or less will call more often than not. Now to correlate the high AF with someone who you think bluffs a lot, you really have to look at their main stats as a whole. For example, someone who has stats of 6/4/4, certainly wont be bluffing a great deal, as he only raises 4% of his hands spread across all positions, so he's likely to have a decent hand most of the time. Whereas a player who has stats of 25/20/5, you can guarantee he's bluffing/semibluffing a certain amount of the time. That doesn't mean all the time though. Don't forget AF is total AF across all streets afaik. |
