How To Survive To A Loong Series Of Bad Hands??
Hello Guys!
I would like to know What should I do when I get A LOOOOT of band hands, one after another. Today I have played 4 10people SnGs and I lost them all because I almost never got a good hand. Only crappy pocket cards. Sometimes When I decided to play some "decent" hands (A10, 88, QKs, etc.) the flopped almost never helped. I have being trying to play VERY patiently and try to play only decent hands, and In fact I manage to get to the last 4 or 5 people. But the blinds eat me alive because I hadn't had the chance to win chips. What is the strategy on these situations? Cheers! |

As the majority of hands don't go to showdown then it is logical that you need to play what you represent, not what you have. Players will (hopefully) notice you are not playing many hands so when you do jump to life, they will (again hopefully) credit you for a big hand.
So long as it is not a turbo SNG, you should have no problems keeping up with the blinds. Also - continuously coming close to the money but not having a stack to compete generally suggests that you are playing too tight. Try to open up your range in position and catch a few more flops with speculative and potentially high value hands. |

Its a common problem in sng's that a player makes it to the final 3 or 4 and can't keep up with the blinds. I try to play tight at first unless I get a stong hand and then try to double up in the later stages with whatever hands I get.
You don't have time in the later stages to wait for those pocket pairs or AK's so bet big with a high card and weaker players, who are still waiting for big hands, should fold and you can build your stack quite quickly by stealing the bigger blinds. Good poker players don't always play the cards, they play the players so if you find a weak player who has made it through to the later stages then take advantage of them by stealing their blinds. |

fold almost all your hands when the blinds are low. when the blinds get past 50 start stealing in late position. and look for spots to resteal from the blinds. towards the end when blinds are high and you got <12BBs any hand you play shove it.

This has been an AWEFUL Weekend.
I am playing very actively since September 2008 and in the recent 3/4 months I finish ITM about 40% of the time. This weekend I have played 12 SnGs, and I have lost 10!!!! I am getting crappy hands 90% of the time and when I decide to be more aggresive on late position, I always get called by a guy with a low pair who wins thanks to the river. I don't know if more advanced players suffer this from time to time, but god,...what a weekend!! I am so busted! |

Play real tight
A10, 88, KQ are pretty decent hands. If they don't flop good, you can bluff at it. Also, no matter what site you are at, if you hold out for 15-25 hands, i gaurantee you will get your AK or good hand you are looking for. Once i did not see one flop for 36 hands, the next 5 hands i won every one, and they were all big pots, AA KQ JJ JJ AQ, no matter where you are, if you are patient the cards will come to you.

It's all about table image. If you haven't played in 20 hands, and you suddenly come out with a raise, people will respect it.
Also avoid turbos. I don't know if you are playing regular SNG's but the blinds shouldn't be eating you up unless you are playing turbos. Be more aggressive and widen your range when the antes kick in. Around this point, there are a few players gone and people are tightening up so they don't bubble. Your main goal in a SNG should be to play to win, because a win pays more than 2 third place finishes. |

Its not all about playing with the cards your dealt, poker is majorly about position, half the time you can have ATC(any two cards) and play with your position and take down the pot. You win 75% of the time with a continuation-bet. Start playing the button more often, be less selective of the cards and take advantage of position. Half the time villain doesnt beleive you but doesnt have the cards to call. just dont do it too much.
