| How should I build my $49 bankroll at Titan Poker I received a no deposit bonus at titan poker from the bankroll mob link. It took a couple days to receive the funds in my account. They gave me $20 no deposit, and as soon as I got that I started playing $5+$.50 double up sit and goes. I grinded my bankroll up to about $30 then I started playing $10+$1 double up sit and go's. What do you recommend I play to successfully continue to build my bankroll? I need at least 1000 points before I can withdraw. 5000 points to receive $60. 10000 points to receive $70. My titan points are currently at 187. They are easy to get. This is just from playing sit and go's for about 4 hours. |

| You are definitely playing way over your bankroll at that site (unless you have a bunch at home you are willing to deposit). Playing 1/6 - 1/3 of your roll at a time will soon leave you with zero. Search this forum for Bankroll Management. |

At the lowest stakes, as long as the rake isn't too high, you can probably get away with having 20 buy-ins. For example, if you had about $75 in your bankroll at Pokerstars, you should play the $3.40 SNG's. Once you get to the higher levels, I would suggest 50 buy-ins. So I guess if you have about $50 in your bankroll, I'd go with $2 SNG's for now. |

1 dollar Sng is enough for now untill u make 100$.Even 2$ is too much with the rake of 0.4$. U can multitable 1$ buy-in SnGs and i strongly advise do not play anymore of those 5$ buy-ins for the moment. U can run on several lucky strikes but in the end u will bump into a loosing strike and loose it all without a proper bankroll management. I do not know if u are reading this , but if u still have some money and not lost them all at this moment, play lower limits 70% of 6-7 games played is not 70% of 1000 games played Last edited by swingro : 31st May 2010 at 8:52 AM. |

| I wouldn't suggest DON sngs, 2 much chance of collusion and also extremely boring. if you want to play SNGs then start with 1$ SNGs. if you want to play cash start at 2$ level. cash is much harder than SNGs though for the inexperienced player so I'd suggest starting with SNGs |

| @Skaplun; Thanks for assuming that I am an inexperienced player. I consider my self to have a good amount of experience with NL holdem since I have been playing online since I was 14 years old. However, I have to disagree with you about the DON sit and go's. Its more about how and when you make your bluffs and how you manage your chips. Obviously getting good cards will help you win. The DON sit and go's aren't that hard to win. Here is an update for my bankroll. I currently have $42 in my bankroll and 400 titan points. Last edited by CheeseMaker : 31st May 2010 at 5:09 PM. |

Since this is not your bankroll, I (gasp) almost agree with Belgo here. Tho I wouldn't suggest PL. You seem to do fair in the double up games, stick with em a bit and since it was free money, only you can decide how much you want to let BRM thwart your progress. |

| @dj11: Yeah I did receive a no deposit bonus but I don't look at it as free money. If I did that I would probably end up throwing it away. But once I get 1000 points, I am withdrawing from titan and moving my funds to full tilt or pokerstars. I need better tourneys, all titans tourneys are rebuys! My bankroll is now at $47.81. |

| Here's the thing -- it's dang easy to lose $50 or more in a day playing at the stakes you want to play, if you play a lot. That's if you are a good player. Because the normal swings at that level encompass, easily, a $50 loss. It's expected that some days will not go well. The point of BRM is to accept the swings and have enough of a cushion to survive them. If you lose your roll, you won't get to 1000 points, and, of course, you will have nothing to withdraw. Chasing the points for a bonus or some other thing is often a great way to go broke. (Been there, done that & am determined not to do that again.) So either you cultivate patience, play at low levels for a longer time and use BRM, or you throw caution to the winds. You choose. No whining. Both have drawbacks. If the latter, expect to redeposit if you don't get really lucky. Excuse me -- deposit for the first time. Last edited by doops : 1st June 2010 at 12:55 PM. |

Free or nor, there are not many sites that give money for free. As a fact ia made account on almost all the sites there untill i found out of free no deposit bonuses, and now i cannot take advantage of that. Is hard like hell to win freerolls to make a BR to play other type of games. Growing up from 0 to 50$ is not an easy thing. And 50$ i think is the lower limit that u can start playing for real and have a proper BR management. |

| I would grind $2 SnGs... if you have that much experience, then you should have no problem doing really well at that low level buy-in. Get that $50 up to around $150 and move up to the $3.xx games. I don't know what Titan has but I play $2 SnGs at Full Tilt but I make the large majority of my money from $3 double-stack 90-player MTT SnGs (cashing 42% after nearly 100 tournaments with an ROI of 163.) What I'm saying is that you may want to give some small buy-in MTTs a try and see if that suits you. A couple of cashes there can really make a big difference to small bankrolls. |

Forget about the 1,000pt. thing. Instead focus on trying to slowly build the roll. I've seen countless number of people, make a few scores & then immediately jump up in buyins (they're 'treating' themselves??) and every single time they go busto. It is fact. It is said (all over the place) that even the very best poker player would go busto if they didn't practise some form of Bankroll management. It is not uncommon for an excellent player (even the guy who is leading the SNG leaderboard... aka the most wining player at the particular level they play on) to go 20 games in succession with zero cashes... & 10 in-a-row is not that unusual at all... it happens (even if you're getting it with the best of it a large percentage of the time). You need to play at a level where having a bad run of it won't crush your bankroll. BRM is like abc rule1 of poker. Obviously you'll have less variance by playing the DoN's but I'd suggest playing at low buyins. Maybe consider playing a $5 once you hit $75... but NEVER a $10. |

| With $50 you should be playing the $1 or $2 sit n gos (if you want to play sit n gos), now you may think that this would take a longer time to earn your titan points, but at most places they take a higher rake percentage from lower staked games, so you can get a higher amount of points for your buy-ins at the lower levels and have less chances of busting. |
