How to draw out maximum chips?

In part of getting ready to an up coming tournament.
One thing that I want to get good at is how to maximize my hands.
Obviously there could be multiple scenerio to this example ie, how many people in hand... position... table image... so on so forth.

but my main concern is what do i do if I am holding 2 pair... and hit trips on the flop. or even hit a full house??
Should I bet or slow play... and then bet on turn?

Typically I would check to the river... then bet or raise.
Some times, I know most people think the right play is to bet on the flop.

Any input on this?

I'm guessing you play omaha (holding two pair, hit trips on flop)?

If you don't bet, you're not building the pot, so you're not getting value. Unless you're certain that if you check someone else will bet, this is usually the wrong play, and a common mistake among less experienced players.

It's all situation dependent though, and your playing style makes a difference. If you cbet a high percentage of the time, others will generally call you more frequently when you do bet (because you're obviously betting frequently without hitting the flop). If you cbet a low percentage of the time, a bet will shut others out (because you're obviously betting only when you hit the flop). How wet is the flop? How agg are other people playing? How smart are other people playing? etc.

Suggestion though - a lot of people will check the river with a hand that is probably good, but not necessarily good. This is a value leak - if you can avoid passing up a thin opportunity for value, you will obtain more value overall even though you'll also lose a few pots where your value bet was thin, and you were behind.

As the first comment alludes to, it is situation dependant, but not only on your style but of your opponent(s). For example, some folks are "calling stations"; they bet instantly at every flop and all the way to the river.

When you mentioned maximizing your value for your good hands, this type of player came to mind. With this type, you have to bet enough so you'll keep em hooked, but not too much (e.g., all-in) to the river.

if you are playing omaha your better off betting theres to many chances that you get your hand counterfeited if you slow play your trips and two pairs
