How do you (should you) play heads-up? How do you (should you) play heads-up? Here is my four cents worth: 1. With any decent face card, you should minimally call his min-raise and "raise" him with any two face cards....heads-up means "controlled aggression" to me whether you are on button OR he is. 2. If you are on the button, you'll want to "make the play" and force him to consider and re-consider... "place and keep him on defense" when you have the button. Do not let him see the flop for free, ever! 3. You must "continually adjust" to your opponent's style of play. If they are loose and aggressive, tighten up and look to trap them. If they are TAG, be more loose and aggressive yourself. 4. You should rarely ever call his "all-in" push unless you have what you consider to be the best hand. Request any/all share some of your thoughts on playing heads-up. Also, do you play essentially the same when there are 2 other players remaining as you do when only one? Why or why not? How do you adjust your play? My best to you, Wally

Bullish has it right on the money. (No pun intended) Heads up is a very different game, you have widen your range of hands playing heads up. A pair (any pair) can be a great hand HU, chances are you have the best hand. If you are on the button and in position almost any two cards are worth a raise. The only thing you have to keep in mind is if it looks like you are beat, get out. Folding is not a bad thing, especially when you think you're beat. GL

Shootouts with heads up is my favorite... all that you wrote above is basiclly all there is... at the end the most important is not giving any free cards in preflop... always play agressive isn t solution...but it depend of enemy and his style...
