hourly rate at micro stakes

How much should I be earning per hour online playing limit Texas holdem?

I hear figures of 1-3 x the BB

But does this stay true at micro stakes? 0.05/0.10

Just in case you don't know, BB =big bet. So if you are playing .05/.1 blinds, the BB = 0.2.

Normally you multitable cash games. So the way ppl grind money in cash even if they are only making 3BB/100 is because they are probably playing 8 tables. Therefore, they are actaully making 24BB/100 and if you are playing say 0.5/1$ blinds, that works out to 48$/hr.

I really really really wouldn't worry about how much you make at micro stakes/hr. It isn't going to be much. Just work on learning how to play and building your BR.

The majority of players lose, and this is true at all stakes. So basically I'd say anything over 0 BB/100 hands or per hour is good. If it's micros you're probably not trying to make a living or anything, so just work on getting better. In terms of what's good? I know I beat it for ~11 BB/100 over like 20k hands and I've heard of people as high as 15 BB/100. As you go up the winrates drop though. At 50nl 5 BB/100 is considered godlike and 3 is very solid. These are also mostly multitablers (and my 11 was at only 4 tables, not sure if I could sustain that at 12 tables).

But if you're just beginning, shoot for something over 0. If you can have fun and profit, even just a bit, you're doing something right. Continue to get better, shooting for a certain BB/100 isn't going to get you there, just continue to work on your game and see what you can accomplish.

I've read several places that professional live poker players plan on winning one big blind per hour. For the very high stakes games, they plan on winning even less.

I play fairly similar to what ChuckTs describes in his 10K postament and make a little more than 9BB/100.

remember Stu is always talking about limit so bb/100 should be lower. NL microstakes bb/100 should be pretty high with deepest stacks and dumbest players.

(Disclaimer: speaking in general terms, not necessarily from experience)

First off, a pedantic note: because hands happen faster online, win rates tend to be expressed per hundred hands rather than per hour.

The one big bet an hour rate comes from live games where the players might only be seeing 20 or so hands an hour. So that works out to 4-5BB/100 hands and if you can sustain that online, you'll be doing very well.

If you're a very good player you might be able to take micro stakes for a bit more than that because they play will, in general, be of a worse standard, but I wouldn't expect it'd be a quantum leap bigger or anything.

I'm not sure what a decent winrate is at your stakes, but limit holdem players generally speak of having a decent winrate if their between 1-2bb/100.

i earnt $4.05/hour 24 tabling 1c/2c. Boring as hell but sustainable. If you want to earn decent money at micros you need to multitable. Also look at it as $/hour nt BB/hour that way its easier to compare to other jobs in life etc.
