Holdem Cash Game Table

I have a question for you great poker players I seen around here. When your at the cash table and you have doubled up and your at a soft table do you leave or stay and try to win more?

Now just started playing cash games and have found it a pretty easy game to win some quick cash, but I have did both hit some good hands got a good lead but lost back down but other times won and got up but was thinking I should stay. You know that felling you get when you on a roll!!!

Once or twice I have won big left but came back and lost!

So what would be some good advise here?

If there is no good reason to leave than don't leave. Being afraid to lose what you have won is not a good reason. Only leave if you are not rolled for the stakes your playing, the table dries up and there is no money left or if you feel you are at a severe disadvantage in skill. If it's a soft table and your crushing why would you want to leave? Take every penny from them.

If you are happy leaving do so.Many times I have taken a big pot early stayed on and dropped the profit and worse.

When I start a cash session now I have a target profit and a target loss expectation, when I exceed either, profit or loss, that is it for that session, early or late.

Make an expectation and stick with it.

Knowing and keeping to your loss expectation helps keep you off tilt.

It depends how comfortable you feel playing deep stacks versus any other deeps stacks you may have at the table. Deeps stacks play is all about playing implied odds hands trying to trap your opponents and let them hang themselves overplaying big pairs. If your not use to playing with deep stacks then it can become very costly indeed. I would suggest leaving until you have a grasp on the how to play this style.

So if your target profit is say 3Bi's for the session but your on 3 tables with a 50/30 to your right who has a full stack on each, do you leave because youve hit your target profit or stay and risk losing your target profit but be in a +++++ev spot on 3 tables??

Stop-losses I can understand totally, stop profits though are for people who don't like money imo. Unless your a fish and you've managed to double up, then leave, but if you have an edge over the table,(EDIT: In an ideal world) you should stay for as long as that 50/30 reloads.

By my example, if i was up 3 BI's then i'm either:

Playing my A game

and/or

Sat on a table where I have a decent edge

None of which are good reasons for stopping a session short.

I'm not much of a cash player yet. But this is where you can realy build a small br quickly. After having some success in small private freerolls I now have a small br to play small buyin tourneys selected carefulfully. But ring games is where I need to improve. So I have been playing micros fl. Playing fixed limit limits how quick I can win but also curbs how quick I might lose. I sit down at a table after observing the table a few rounds and watch b4 i join. I would like to know firsthand how the deepstacks are playing and if it is just a bingo session for others. I buyin just over the min buyin. Even if I do not intend to lose that much. I can always get up and leave if I make my set limits. Win or lose I do try to have set limits. I also like to play at least 50 to 100 hands. If the table changes and players start becomming overly aggressive. I have no problems leaving. And if the table is passive i will stay on.

I really don't understand why anyone plays FL. Just read a bit about NL and you should have no problem playing 2nl as long as your not playing crazy. It's also takes so much loner to move up the way your playing. Short stack FL come on.

Yeah I think I will stick with NL, you just can't get where you need to go in FL less its the last of your BR and you don't wanna be pushed, but you really can't throw your opponent out of a hand in FL and they will most likely best on the river cause you couldn't raise them out the hand with the limit. But yeah your more control players may be on FL because the donks can't play crazy at this table but your not getting anywhere fast here. Thanks for the replies tho!!!

Yep your reasoning is sound but even a 50/30 gets lucky.
Maniacs are a problem if they keep slamming all-in remembering you are not the only one likely to call their looseness.

If you feel you should leave, then do so.
I usually set a goal at a table, 3 bi's, 20%, 50-100 hands or whatever I fell comfortable with.
