Hey Everyone, can you help find my problem I'm 21, I've been playing poker since I was 18. I play quite a bit, when I have time and it seems as if I can never get ahead? I've read a lot of books, played quite a bit. It really bothers me because everything I've taken up I've been decent at. I was wondering if anyone else can relate to this or if any one has any good advice? Thanks a lot!

Get pokertracker or hold'em manager so you can review your hands.. posting hands and discussing them is always a good idea too, even if you get bad advice it will open your mind to different lines of thinking. + you could sign up at a poker training site like cardrunners / stox / blueflame to watch some videos by the pros

re: Hey Everyone, can you help find my problem poker Reviewing your hands is the best way of seeing where you go right or wrong. Put them up for analysis on forums if you are uncertain of whether your move was good or not. Also, be careful with book selection. Some popular books like Harrington on Hold em should not be read until you have a clear understanding of the game.

Sounds like your either too aggressive, getting committed to hands that you picture as unbeatable, or not aggressive enough, not extracting value from premium cards. If you've studied the books, listened to the advice and put it into practice i'm guessing your hand selection is ok, and playing often is always a great way to learn (especially your from mistakes). If not aggression, then perhaps limits. I would never advise anyone to play out of their limits, dont EVER risk more than you can afford, but the lower levers (I'd even say lower than $20 buy in) can be a real challenge. 75% of players will play any 2 suited, any 2 connectors, any Ax or Kx, and it leads to bad beats and suckouts i'm afraid. Good luck anyway, i'm still learning myself and not profitable after 2/3 years play!
