| HELP! STRAIGHT FLUSH PROBABILITY! I have a math question regarding poker and a straight flush. It is as follows. PLEASE HELP! 1. You and _____ are playing a game of 5 card poker with 48 cards (deck is missing all 2's). In your hand you have the A, K, Q, J, and 9 of spades (flush). This is a good hand and it is very unlikely that _____ will beat you, however, you still want to know your probability of losing before you place your bet.. What is the probability that ____ has a better poker hand? HELP! |

| I tutor math at my university and someone came to me asking this EXACT question. I'm assuming you don't actually know poker, so a hint is that 4 of a kind, full houses (three of a kind and two of kind) and a straight flush, all beat that hand. The rest is basic probability that you should be able to handle. |
