HELP!! Please

I have been playing for play chips for a while to learn the game and have recently moved up to real money on Pokerstars. I recently played a tournament where I lost simply by the blinds. Here are the stats from the tourney. Just wondering if I should bet more hands and play a little less tight or what?

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 67 hands and saw flop:
- 7 out of 8 times while in big blind (87%)
- 2 out of 9 times while in small blind (22%)
- 6 out of 50 times in other positions (12%)
- a total of 15 out of 67 (22%)
Pots won at showdown - 6 of 7 (85%)
Pots won without showdown - 0

The one hand I lost at showdown was the last hand where I got put out. I was down to 980 chips with a 3000 blind! I just couldn't get a decent hand.

Also this was a freeroll so we know how that goes but I have gotten my buy-in back on a couple of tourneys but the blinds always get me. Like I don't have enough chips built up at that time. I am playing tight aggressive, maybe a little too much so, but I also can't bet on sorry hands! I'm lost!

Its kinda hard to analize that few of hands.

The 1st thing that hits me is 0 pots won without a showdown,I usually have nearly as many as won at showdown.

You are playing alot from the BB,if these are raised pots its probably to many.

Assuming that the stats you provided are a general indication of how you play then my analysis would be the following:

1. The majority of the hands you got in with were the big blinds which I'm assuming is because nobody raised you. Few problems with that, you're in an early position so you're usually going to make the least amount of money you could potentially make in later position and the hands you're playing are "forced" hands and getting to see the flop with a moderate hand can be dangerous sometimes.

2. Winning all your hands on the showdown can mean a few things but i'm going to guess its because you played extremely tight which means that you're not raising enough good hands throughout the pot. Could be because you don't feel you have the best hand... you don't necessarily have to be bluffing all the time sometimes just play pot odds... sometimes just 3 times the blinds will get people to fold and/or increase the pot for you by the time you reach the river.

Hope I could help.
Congrats on your first win btw.
